My friend swears by Google Chrome... personally I don't like the look at all and am really just too lazy to try to figure out if I can change it... so I stick with Firefox

Firefox was the first browser I've ever tried besides IE. I've become so used to it that I can never switch to another browser. At this point I've tried everything. I love the way Safari renders text. If it didn't make text look so cool then I probably wouldn't of even tried it at all. Google Chrome has a nice UI but it's nothing impressive. Opera is in the same boat as Chrome except for that awesome fast dial thing which now has been made into an addon for Firefox :[

I also call hacks. But from a amateur web developer and designer from a compatibility and compliance point of view FF and safari and the best. IE is for the birds when it comes to being an even remotely good browser. The internet is alot safer with good browser. Chrome is only fast btw because google stripped out most of the cool looking things, thus making it faster to load (by reducing content and looks you get speed, but that's not surprising), but it has to be said that chrome's engine is nice stuff, one thing that bugs be about chrome is there is no good ad blocker, why you ask, because google pretty much run advertisement on the web, so with their browser why would you want to hide all those ads they stick up for you. Safari is a close second in my books. Never really given Opera a good look to be honest. But FF for life!!!!!! The community behind it is amazing, plugins out here are great.

i use chrome, but i voted for FF cuz ( anything > IE )

I use Opera. On sites where Opera doesn't work, I'll use Firefox.
