insurgency

is insugency the same as css ????????? or is it like garrys mod?

It is still a FPS game and has the same layout, team A battling team B, but its more realistic, like on hit kills and different class of weapons.

um its like a mod from hlf its kinda like css but not really some of the controls are different and the graphics arent great

It's a mod using Source engine, in my opinion it's nothing like CS:S. The only similarity being that team A is fighting team B, and they both happen to be using guns. (Like the person stated above) Insurgency also utilizes a no cross-hair system which is quite difficult to master if you're a beginner. The game's graphics aren't that great but if you're up to play something new then I don't see why you shouldn't give it a try, hell... You might even like it.

i personally think iron sites are even easier than crosshairs. i've played lots of games with iron sites, they are easy to get used to. and i love that there is a game like that. thats the good thing about it IMO. the bad thing...well i'll leave all my personal opinions out of it, its a game worth trying. all you need is HL2 or CSS or CS in order to install it.
i however uninstalled it

Ever since I saw the C:SS vs INS post on the news page I've been interested. I'll have to give it a go.

who said the graphics weren't good? the graphics blow cs:s out of the water. it has way better graphics and you need a lot more teamwork in ins. it's fun though. try it out it's free. so why not? plus once you play you'll know how sweet it is

Not great graphics? I don't know what settings ya have ya's computers on, but for my computer Insurgency looks great and CS:S looks last-gen.

Not that I don't like both. I just think that if you shoot someone in the chest they should friggin' die, dangit!

Don't know how you guys can compare CSS and INS, everytime a CSS member comes on the INS servers, they rage quit :), not sure why??

Is CSS that easy to play? ahah

Promise i wont be too hard on your guys on Saturday

Oh and what Cryptex said about "you can sprint for miles", well wouldn't you if you were getting shot at, cryptex would rather turn around and offer some milk and cookies.

They play pretty much the same to me with alot of the same maps..

Yeah CSS is a big diff becuase you buy weapons etc.. but honestly the only difference i noticed was more camping and the different character models.

I think insurgency is just hard mode CSS

For those of you looking to try out Insurgency here is what to expect:

Its not a run and gun game like CS:S, you have to take it slow and communicate with your team. Teamwork is essential to attaining the mission objectives.

You dont have a mid-screen crosshair like you do in CS:S because the truth is, there is no imaginary crosshair that floats in front of you in real life...you have to aim down the barrel to hit what you are shooting at.

The graphics rival any game out there. The game is very detailed, with a lot of objects that move around and detailed textures and models. There is also an update expected soon that will further detail the models and atmospheres in which you play.

If you cannot use teamwork, and want to be Rambo like in CS:S...dont expect to live long.

The weapons usage actually correlates to how well your team does (i.e. the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon should be used for suppression rather than something you run around, the RPG and grenades actually work for their intended purpose) If you are trying to run around with a SAW or other Automatic belt fed weapon, you are taking away from the combat strength of your team.

Expect the first few times you play to be a learning experience. You cant just jump into this game and expect to be "ub3r 1337" Give it some time, and get into playing a game for its realism and tactics. The learning curve is steep, but its a lot more rewarding when you capture a point using teamwork. The game isnt necessarily based on individual skill, although the better you are the more you help your team. It is a total new experience from any other game offered by Edge Gamers. Give it a try.

I don't all the time. :P No scope ftw.

Great explanation Herm, sure it'll help a lot of people who want to know what insurgency is all about :) +1

i gave insurgency a shot and i ran at 9 fps...so well, i went back to CS:S because i cant support it and i dont have the money to up my vid and graphics cards sooo....back to the good ol' CS:S

can you guys post some pics of insurgency and these amazing graphics?? because when i install it normally, and all settings are set to high etc blah blah it looks like absolute disgusting crap.

EDIT: im even looking at the screenshots on the website and stuff, and i really wonder how you guys think this looks better than CSS...
