Ok, we'll try an anonymous freestyle as a lark. Name free signatures. How do you spell oxymoron?

I'll post the rules Sunday but basically people will be emailing me the links to their sigs and I will assign them designations and add them to the thread. No names are to appear in the sigs.

If you want them to stay anonymous don't tell your friends which is yours.

When the voting is done I will edit the thread and reveal who the artists are. And may the best mouse win.

I too feel it's become almost based on popularity, at times. Geno is apparently no longer entering because of that.

Annonymously freestyle this week would help bring things up I believe.

I really hope Geno keeps at it. Only been around for one SOTW but his got my vote and would like to see more(if that is the Geno you are referring too)! I also see it being somewhat of a popularity contest. Voters not taking it seriously is a slight toward the artists.

Drawing upon my five and a half decades I can tell you that there will always be an element of "artist popularity" in the voting. Voters are people. People identify with their friends and want them to do well. It would be nicer not to have the bias but it will always be there.

What I hope is not happening is artists chatting up their friends and saying "vote for me". That is against the rules.

As far as it being a "slight" to other artists; I seriously doubt there is any deliberate malice involved.

Please try to remember that this is for fun. It provides an opportunity to do something with a hobby we enjoy. Please don't take the voting aspect to heart. It is not meant to be a serious activity. Those who start dwelling upon the "fairness" instead of the "fun" are heading down a path that only leads to grumpy days and sleepless nights.

I think Circle turned out to be one of the best SOTWs yet, a lot of really good entries. I'm excited to see what everyone makes for the 'blind' SOTW.

I really like this week's and last weeks SOTW. I like the more general themes lets people do what they are good at and incorperate a more general idea into there sigs.

So, we got a pretty good response for the anonymous freestyle. It wasn't any harder to deal with than a typical sotw because I could do the submission threads as they came in and check them for rule compliance before posting. My only problem is the idea of a signature without a name in it has always struck me as rather lacking in the basic element.

How do you guys feel about it? Is it a more "fair" contest because the artists are harder to identify? Do you miss showing off your name? (They will be added later).

Let's have a little feedback please.

I liked the anonymous idea, maybe have a name picked out that everyone uses so you can use it in your sig. Maybe the last weeks winner or somthing like that.

Also I really wana do another stock manipulation theme (make people post their stock too)

Stock manipulation week sounds cool. I'd like to do a week whee you have to post a screenshot of your layers pallette, would be nice to see just how much works goes into each signature.

The recent stuff, circles, two colour, have really made SOTW open to even the most beginner artists. It's good to include everyone
