Some one told me that if you have been a member for more than six months and is active. You may get eG? is this true? I didn't know exactly where to put this.

Getting promoted to =(eG)=™ or =(eGO)=™ also has nothing to do with time in the clan. We cannot stress this enough. It is the effort you put into the servers and the contributions you make to the clan.

Actually this was said in a meeting by Drunken Sailor. So maybe contact him or dods leadership and explain your position. But active means active in game and on forums, so consider this.

It may have been mentioned as a minimunm or a target but there is no trigger anywhere that says hey his 6 months probation are up time to promote!

Yeah there are some that have been members for under 6 months and there advisors already. It's the time and effort you put into this thing we call eGO. It also helps to know the right people. :laugh:

Yes, the people here have told you good ways to go about getting promoted. You need to get your name out to eGOs and especially those in leadership. Additionally, playing in the servers often and being active on the forums helps. Meet people, make friends, etc. Those are the sorts of things that will get you noticed. You just cannot expect to be promoted. Showing potential of being an admin will do that. So follow the rules and be a good role model, and I'm sure at some point you'll get promoted. It is good that you want to help out the clan as an admin, but you need to have the right spirit about it. You shouldn't want privileges just to have more "power" so to speak. Admin power is only disbursed to those who have proved themselves worthy of the privileges. This means that you are looking to improve the clan in some manner or help keep it running by keep our servers punk free. In the end, I can see your dislike for so much time in the clan and nothing to show for it, but sometimes good things come when you wait. Patience is definitely a virtue in this case. What Drunken said was that we want members that have been with us to take a larger role in the clan, promotion being one of the ways to do this. Six months in here is some time, and we need people to grow larger.

But you do need to be active and participate. This can be done in many ways. I know DLs and Council is always looking at people in the game and promotions in the server have been done for some time.

Have fun, be helpful, follow the rules, and be active.

Yeah there are certainly many people here who have been a member less than six months, and definitely less than two years who are now admins. Like everyone has said it's all about being active and contributing to the clan.

And just to add to my first post. I joined the community on 10-13-08. Got lucky and got a field promotion from JohnT while playing on the flash server on 11-27-08. Now to be realistic I will most likely not get an O because I don't have the time to play on the servers all the time. Therefore limiting my exposer to the people that can put in a good word for me. Plus it dose not help that I am a reserved person and don't talk much. But thats just how it is.

i been in 5 months, and dont worry about the promotion y? cause when the LEADERSHIP feels you have proved yourself worthy they will get you what you need to move on up the chain, untill then make good friends talk to admins and sooner or later you will make it up to eGO sometime in the future so just hang on you will be there soon enough

The way I see it, don't "think" about trying to put your name out there. Instead, be polite in-game, crack a small joke here and there or respond to people to be active (if you become eG, help admin when necessary), post or reply in forums, and, eventually, someone will notice/recommend you. In the end, it's all about having fun together, and, if you try to reach that goal, you will find that everyone will be there with you.

It doesn't take long for people to notice you when you come off as friendly and communal. Any admin here will attest to that I'm sure. See you in game =)
