If I had a choice in rifles I would pick the .50 cal for sniping in the marine team. That would definitively be a 1 shot 1 kill no matter where you hit them. If it hit a critical spot they would be gonners if it hit an arm or a leg itwould blow it right off.

the marine sniper doesnt always kill in one shot as i have so found out. which is aggravating because as u said it would take off a limb but yet it doesnt, you should be able to bleed to death in ins that would be really realistic with medics and stuff

I find the sniper rifle doesn't work for me that well, I prefer to use the M4 Aimpoint, since you can snipe if the opportunity arises and spray and pray when surrounded.

With the marine's sniper rifle you just need to hit center mass (head or chest) for a one shot kill. Personally, I prefer to use the scoped Enfield for sniping, since thats using a 7.62mm (.308) round. I don't like the Dragunov (the default INS sniper) because of how restricting the scope is. Also, the Enfield is a bolty, and my fav weapon in DOD is the Mauser K98k or the Enfield (when playing the original DoD).

Its kind of surprising how many people don't know you have some weapon options in Insurgency.

the bolt action sniper SUCKS!!!!! its horrible you can rarely get a one shot kill on somebody and by the time you redo the bolt thing the person is gone

Hmm I like all the rifles, but for certain maps... Marines rifle I can use on any map, the bolt action for some maps that have some range, just in case I miss... Then that other insurgent sniper rifle umm the drag....off...uhh:blink::confused1::closedeyes::glare::bored::huh:
Yeah... That one I need to be in a fixed position like in sinjar in that one spot :biggrin:
I'll never tell though, I can go multiple rounds without dieing in that spot though:thumbup::blink::mellow:

I never use the dragonuv. It totally sucks in this game, but I remember rocking it in the original Ghost Recon.

It's all about the bolt action. It's more satisfying getting a kill.

The key to one shot kills is to hit center mass (chest and head). I've gotten single shot kills with the pistol that way in INS. The Enfield (bolty) seems to do more damage as I get more hits that kill than when I've used the marine or Dragunov rifles (i.e., more people get to run away when I know the first round hit them with those weapons).

The main reason I dislike the Dragunov is the scope. All the info just clutters up the picture for me.
