he said about 1500, and as for reviews i listen/read them with a grain of salt. unless i read 30+ reviews saying it's broken in a certain spot then i won't buy it (like my razer headset did). if it's something kinda picky like the layout of a board but it's fine for my specifications screw that review. now if the review was something along the lines of "this board has bios problems and it fries itself after a week of hardcore use" then no you shouldn't buy it. if it's this layout isn't that great. . . lol that's all up to one's desires and needs. walle like his board so there is no reason to come in here and give someone else's opinion on it. if you personally don't like don't bother saying anything. if i put up a new build and someone came in and bashed on it i'd probably slap them with a wet noodle especially since he put 1500 into it and loves it.
p.s. he also asked for it to be dropped i just wanted to put in my $.02
Yeah, most customer reviews are negative usually aside from on the egg.. people with a working product do not usually log on to talk about how good it is or how it works just right..
People log stuff to complain more often than not, Hardhat's attack at walmart's build thread is really unsettling, as if he has some kind of personal issue that he is taking out on walmart that has nothing to do with him, his build or this thread in general.
Thanks for posting your experiences with the core i7 nehalem.
One thing i would say is overkill is the hx1000 watt powersupply.... geez man !
lol

Actually, reviews from HardOCP are a lot more trustworthy compared to the rubbish reviews from Anand or TomsHardware. If you're looking for motherboard or video card reviews, HardOCP is the first site you should look at. They actually give honest evaluations, and chances are, if a product is crap, they'll tell you bluntly.
This isn't about choosing a movie, a book or a dress, where it's all subjective, where you can think for yourself. Choosing PC parts is based on fact, objective reviews. If you like to 'take a shot at things' when it comes to spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on new parts, fine, but for me, I stick to reputable brands that have been evaluated properly.
Would you trade that computer for my old laptop?

) are the real bottlenecks in my system. Good to hear the i7 had that much of an overall effect for you.
question: How hot does your cpu get after like 2h of prime 95 ?
Mine doesn't exceed 50?c after 2h 25m of prime 95 (Clocked at 3.4GHz)
question2: What are your Cinebench results ?

And I haven't run Prime95 for that long, but after running for anything longer than 10mins, and the temps pretty much stop going higher at 70c or so.
I have been messing with my Vcore lately. I dropped my OC down to 3.6 to see how it will run and I got my Vcore down to 1.3V I believe. And Prime95 for like 20 minutes gets all cores around 60c or so.

Ya, I know. The lower the Vcore, the better. When I got some help from Overclcock.net they've been saying start out with a higher Vcore and slowly drop it until its stable, which is what I've been doing. I have the Vcore at 1.25v at the moment and brought it back up to 3.8GHz. I'm still adjusting things man, settle down. Some guys have a 920 at 1.4v on a T.R.U.E![]()

Get your clock at the final clock you want. Then keep on lowering your vCore.. Not lower your vCore and change te clock.. And those some guys won't have their i7 running for long..
I lowered the clock and the vCore to see how it would run, and it didnt make much of a difference so I brought it back to 3.8GHz. This whole morning I've had it at 3.8 and have been lowering the vCore like I previously said. I have it at 1.25v right now and so far that has been the only vCore running stable. I jumped it down to 1.20 and worked my way up but I didn't get farther than windows loading screen without restarting. So far 1.25v is working for me.
