Nhl hockey playoffs!!

I am probably like the only one here who will actually watch the playoffs. Hockey is pretty much the rest of my life outside of eGO. So for all of you who do watch i want a prediction on the 2 finalists and who will be victorious. I don`t want this to turn into a: "My team is better than your team" kinda thing I want legitimate predictions and reasons why.


Well I'm going to say for the Finals

Detroit vs. New Jersey

They are the 2 best playoff teams and to of the best teams overall.

But the Stanley cup will go to.....

The Detroit Red Wings.
 
Detroit always makes the playoffs. Detroit also chokes out by the 2nd round.
San Jose Sharks have the speed and depth of scoring, with offensive defensemen like Boyle and Lukowich, to pull it off in the West. Plus they've picked up some veteran leadership over the season. Six players with Cup rings on that squad now!

As for the Devils I think Brodeur has been a little too inconsistent this season to handle a full playoff run. I look for the Devils to make Conference Finals but to lose out the the Caps. Yeah, Great #8. But they also have depth of scoring with Koslov, Semin, and Brashear. Plus the Caps secret weapon: defenseman Mike Green. Goals in 8 consecutive games? Not even Ray Borque did that.

So my Cup predictions are Sharks v Caps and I'll take Sharks for the win. I suppose if I wanted a true scientific prediction meter I would look at GAA and PPG. Goaltending and Power Play % are what wins Cups. But I'm going to go with my gut. So my Cup predictions are Sharks v Caps and I'll take Sharks for the win. But I'll be happy so long as it's not the Flyers. I swear if it were Al Quaeda versus the Philadelphia Flyers, I'd be rockin' a Bin Laden Jersey
 
Montreal is gonna be crushed by Boston (Cake = Quebec Nordics Fan)

Washington is gonna win :)

I am a hometown fan so my desire and love of the RedWings completely outdoes any logical argument I can try and give as to why they will win again.

I mean when the Stanley Cup goes back to Detroit even it knows it's home.

Will they pull it off again? Hard to tell honestly...but I do want them to. And you are not the only person who will be watching. I will be watching.

The Homer in me says the Wings have a great shot at doing it again this year. But damn all it takes is a few bad bounces and hot goal tender and things can change real quick.

But yeah Wings for the win again. They've already got 4 of the last 11 lets try to make it 5 of 12. :D
 
Grew up playing hockey until i was about 17, still enjoy skating and outdoor, but i live in NC now so not much ice down here. Hockey IS my favorite sport. I was really looking forward to playoffs this year with little to no skating time for myself the next best thing is to watch hockey right? lol

ps- Die-hard Avs fan, got a authentic Joe Sakic jersey(My sports idol growing up). They didnt do so great this year but they will be back.

Go blackhawks!

Although their thursday night game was pretty sad, they got insanely lucky. Hopefully they improve over the next few days.
