graphics card help

i just got a new graphics card so i start playing CS,DOD,and L4D

and i've noticed its been laging alot....

exspecially in L4D


i have nothing running or anything at the time i play the games

so i was thinkign it might be my graphics card...and idk how to fix it


so anyhelp?

i think it lags in L4D because its a newer engine... since it doesn't lag as much as DOD or CS

Post the specifications of the computer you are using, we cant help you if we don't know what hardware you have. If you don't know how to do this hold the windows key + Pause/break this will bring up some basic info about your pc. WITH WINDOWS VISTA go to device manager in the top left. IN WINDOWS XP you have to click on the hardware (or performance I cant remember what its called) tab and then device manager.

While here click the little plus sign next to 'display adapters' and tell us what it says once it has been expanded (should be NVIDIA...... or ATI........). Then right click on that and select properties, click on the driver tab and tell us the date it says in that tab.
Using this method you can determine what processor you have as well as many other parts of your computer but for your problem I think we will only need the information suggested above.

As for the power supply, if you aren't comfortable taking off the side of your computer case there is no way to determine what power supply you have from windows. If you are comfortable it should say the Wattage rating on the side of power supply (the big metal brick that the power cable plugs into from the back of your computer). It should say ***W for example 250W or 500W (there may be multiple of these just tell us the largest one)
