Dual Monitor Question.

When using dual monitors is there a way to run a game full screen on the secondary monitor? Or is the only way to window it and slide it over?

i use dual, and i have to slide each over, unless playing a game on it u have to right click screen go to properties, settings and change the main screen, but other then that idk how to do it srry hope that helps :-|

usually, you should make the screen you want it to run in full screen your "default windows monitor". most games automaticlly open in that monotor, and acan only be (un-windowed) maximized in that monitor.

Just would be easyer to connect the gaming monitor to the master port and the misc thing on the slave port.

Not sure if its the proper term for it but has not failed me so far.

So when you lanuch a game it will load it to the master port on whatever monitor you hooked it to.

you can also change your default monitor in your windows settings somewhere. i dont have dual monitors hooked up but you can choose which monitor you want as default so it doesnt matter what port you plug it into, as long as you know what your doing

I may be wrong, but I believe you can change the game to "Windowed" mode and drag it to the other monitor, then go back to fullscreen. Unfortunately I'm away from my other monitor at the moment (LAN party) or I would try it. Let me know if it works.

Thanks guys. Arn0t, That is what I have been doing for my full-screen games. Xenophek, When you switch back to full-screen it automatically goes to your primary monitor.

you could get around that by running in windowed mode, but then set the size of the window to the full resolution of your second monitor. that way it's pretty much full-screen while still being in windowed mode

Personally, with steam at least, I set my monitor I want to play on as my main monitor. Then I set all my games to -window -noborder and at the screens max resolution. Then I drag my windows bar to the secondary monitor after unlocking it and put any windows I want while not gaming there. Vista/7 make this much easier because of the program index option that lets you search through all your programs without needing the desktop.

If it's not a steam game then running it windowed suffices so I can move over to the other monitor if I want to.

His set up is awesome... i just played on Puddin's computer and he has a VERY good set up on it
