If Warpath goes we'll lose a bunch of regulars, including myself, as my time on eGO servers will be about 1/3 as much as it is now.

I agree, only map I play. I haven't been putting the time in lately because I have a newborn and It is kinda hard to play warpath and hold her and wrestle my other 2 boys :facewall: . But hope to be putting more time in very soon.

Steamrolls kill warpath. We had two steamrolls in a row last night and the server went from full to empty. I know its hard to prevent them from happening, but when they happen that late the server will not refill until the next afternoon.

Yup, I was there for some of that. If we could vote for team scrambles, that would help immensely.

What about collection of Warpath Server specific donations from some of us regulars? Could we guarantee the server's continued survival via that method? I mean doesn't this issue ultimately come down to whether or not the powers at be want to keep paying for a server that is less popular than all the rest?

Anyhow, the server is far from dead and well worth saving in my opinion. So if the administrative staff would be so kind as to address this issue I'd appreciate it and as a regular 'Warpathian' I'd be happy to donate to this cause.

Just understand that for a lot of people like me, this is their main map. Has been for years. We have a group of 50-75 players that live for this map in the evenings. We have jobs and lives and when we get some time to game, we really only go there. I don't understand what parking my toon in spec all morning accomplishes other than creating false data as to where players are playing. But what do I know? They're your servers, so do as you wish with them.

It was pretty amazing hearing the concern from our pubs last night. Its just so suprising to see how much of a diehard following this map has....

That aside, Egypt has been in a constant nosedive and I think that we can definitely overtake it. Lets start there.....

lilgil is right, we were talking to a bunch of pubs who were really unhappy and surprised that the map might be on it's way out. "what can we do?" was the question, and i kept saying, just get people on the map; keep it full.
suicidal sophist makes an excellent point, and one that has occurred to me. how much money would it take to keep warpath alive? i assume a monthly contribution would be required. maybe if we had a bulletin posted on the begining screens stating the danger the server is in, and where to donate in order to save it.... granted, most people would click through, but with all the ego members playing the map, it would be easy to quickly educate people. that said, if we just past egypt, as lillgil said, it wouldn't be a concern any more.

Time to rally the troops!

Warpath is my love. Warpath was the reason I joined eGO. It is the home of so many of our members. It is the map where your skills are put to the test!

We must dedicate our time to fill Warpath! I usually do not seed servers, but I will dedicate my freetime to seed Warpath. I will also post S.O.S.'s on the IRC/Shoutbox to get it full in the afternoon. Guys, this is our last chance. Warpath must not die.

What really needs to happen is that we need to get people to play on there during the day...and not just seeding.

Yesterday I took the day off from work and in the late-morning I popped onto the server for about an hour to try to get some people playing. A few random people joined here and there but we never got more than a 2 on 2 match going. When one person left, the server emptied out again. I eventually got frustrated and joined Dustbowl, and Green Lizard and I filled that up in about an hour.

What we need are people like college students, our European clanmates, and others who aren't busy during the slow hours to get at least a few buddies together to play on the server. Warpath has a lot of excellent and loyal regulars that play in the evenings (US Time), but we aren't going to develop those types of regulars for the day time unless eGO members can commit playing on the server during the day.

I wish I could do it, but I usually work during the day. For the sake of the server I hope that some people can pull it together. Good Luck!

Not all can play during the day, most of us work. I would seed while I am at work, but Im afraid my 3yr old would see it open and try to play. He does love this game also.

I NEED my warpath!
if we can't keep a warpath only server full, i would suggest a hydro/warpath/egypt server-three maps only rotating-i LOVE hydro, and hardly anyone has it anymore.
I don't play sniper, and I get lost on Black Mesa. I do enjoy playing on Eqypt (usually while I am waiting for a spot on Warpath) but I am a TRUE WARPATHIAN!!!

Warpath is the main reason I joined eGO, and I don't really care for the "grab the suitcase" maps-capture the flag?

anyway-PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep warpath! I would donate monthly to keep an all warpath all the time server if it came down to that!

OR ack and others could make other maps that are simple like warpath. I think that's what I like the most about warpath-it's simplicity.

The sniper update could be a blessing in disguise for Warpath.... it does play pretty well for snipers

i suggested something similar. it's an idea, although whether it would work or not, who knows. there are probably plenty of pubs willing to contribute if it came down to losing the ego warpath server. my question is, how much would it take how frequently?

Warpath is a great server that would be a shame to lose. It's been good for recruiting, has consistent players and is great for beginners. I also agree with the statement that server lag issues have been hurting it for a while and changing to melee might help.

Part of why I play warpath less and less.

The new version with less ammo is making engys frustrated. All the other changes are good, but keep an eye out for issues developing with less ammo.
