Hey guys, I know there has been, and always will be, lots of discussion about the whole seeding process. The truth is yes it helps to an extent, and no it is not dishonest. We have people who are avid seeders, who take time from their day to get on our servers and help get them up and full. Alot of the time these guys have a busy day and don't have as much time as some of us to hop on and acctually play, or help the community in some other way. This is their way of giving back to eGO and helping us get sponsors, servers, and even gear that we give away during raffles. If you feel like seeding the server is wrong or isn't in our best interest then don't do it. However, do not be demeaning to other people who do seed. As I said this is an effort to help eGO, and as such should always be appreciated.
Now to clarify, yes, sometimes the amount of seeders is overwhelming, and we do need to limit that. There should only be about 3-4 seeders on a server, any more begins to be overkill. If it get's the forth seeder, it would be prefered that at least is active seeding, meening they are at their computer and able to move if need be, such as Atten does from time to time. We aren't in an effort to make a server a populated with afk people, but rather to give people more incentive to join our servers. If we put too many people seeding in the server, then it can have negative effects. People will become more hesitant to join our servers, and force our ratings down.
The difference in bots and seeders - Bots are computer generated figures used to simulate a full server to help rankings. Seeders are people taking time out of their schedules to help the eGO community. Some of you may have seen the "Advanced Seeding" guide. It was moved and discussed by leadership. We feel like this is to close to using bots. It takes the effort and commitment from it, and as such we ask that you not use such things.
