hey, i was wondering what improvements you would choose and think what would be good for insurgency.

I think an air strike would be good because there could be moments in the game when your in real trouble and ned some help but everyone is miles away. You could call one in and wipe most of em out then go for an attack.

I also think new guns could be recomended like an smg class or something.

What do you think could be changed for Insurgency ?
You decide :)

I've spoken to the INS development team and there are some changes coming out. As to what those changes are, i'm not a liberty to discuss. I can tell you that an air strike, although it does sound like a lot of fun, is not on the list of updates. They may be updating some weapons, i'm not sure what class of weapons.

The move to the Orange Box will be coming down the road sometime and it "may be" the final update from the development team. <=== DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS ONE!

Well first off, isn't the INS militiants optional gun alot like SMG?

But the air strike...*drooooool* I can allready imagine planes dropping napalm to the enemy...
Buuuut to be realist it will never happen :( It would cause people dropping bombs to the spwan and that would cause the F-bombs to start dropping. And we certainly don't want that to happen :)
But we shall wait for the 3.0 beta to give us the melee ^^

I personally do not feel that there is too much content that they should add. While a melee system is always fun for rubbing in people's faces, I personally would not want to see it implemented. It's easy enough to brag with pistol kills. I also would not want to see an air strike. The idea is very CoD heavy and when the game is built off of "infantry combat" an air strike would slightly defeat that purpose. What I think INS needs most is all mechanical. I want to see hit boxes fixed so that you can actually snipe somebody's head when they're prone. I want to see character models the same size as the width of your screen so you don't get stuck on random stuff like doors, boxes, or even that flat surface in the middle of the road. And I want the draw distance turned into a sphere so that turning away from your target doesn't let you see them more clearly. This also eliminates the extra advantage that high ground gives you based on the draw distance.

This last one isn't horrible but I still feel should at least be mentioned: I'd like to see the teams evened more. For instance, because the majority of the insurgent team has access to fully automatic weapons, it gives them an advantage at indoor combat. Spray and pray works really well when you're only looking for one bullet. I think this should be offset by accuracy. Currently, every gun shoots perfectly straight (except for the shotty) which means as long as your sight is lined up properly you can't miss no matter how far away you are. I have heard people say the marine weapons are more accurate, but in practice I do not believe this. I've sniped with the AK-74 as well as snipers have. If weapons had slight spread on them it would make camping far off in the corner much harder to do, unless you're a marksman.

also you have to take into account balance. Just like marines not having NVG on night maps. You can't give marines airstrikes and then give ins rocks to throw back...A fine line betwen making a fun, fair, balanced game, and something that no one wants to play due to it favoring one side....

that is very true

I don't really think that air stirke is fair because people could just exploit it and keep launching it,what i would really like is for the Support Gunner class to have a rolling feature!

Must I say more?!

DAMNIT APR YOU ARE ROCKIN!! You just summed it up for me on what I was going to say GOSH DARNIT you rock my world :w00t::huh::laugh::):P;):O:huh::laugh:

Lessen the fog on some of the maps (sinjar), allow shots to be fired when looking through sandbags, add long range support weapons to both sides (mortars and such). Some of the things i would love to see happen to INS

hit box problems are my biggest concern. you can shoot someones rpg but not see their body and get a kill

i really dont see any big changes that need to happen. ya maybe what Rock said about the evened teams. but here is an idea i have.... Idk if its just my settings but increase the view range when sniping. like for example on sinjar when im sniping on wither side i have to get pretty close to see up the hill from the valley and down into the valley. maybe more weapons for the usmc.

Give the insurgents off-map mortar support. That would balance it. Also, only allow squad leaders to call off-map support and limit it just like the emergency reinforcements. But still, I wouldn't favor this update.

you know the thing I would like to see and I would think that it would improve game play would be the adding of two new weapon classes on each side frist the marines a rocket class use like the Mk.153) SMAW rocket launcher or the AT-4 and for the insurgents a grinader class using the GP-25 launcher for the ak-47 or the ak-74 that would make a nice balance. For teams to have indirect fire support would really jack the game all up in bad way. Oh and being able to grab and throw back grenades that would be cool.

ya. adding stuff like that would ruin the "Infantry combat" part of the game. if an air strike was to be added. it better be like COD5 on the WII, just hold a button select a spot and release to fire and it last for a about 6-7 secs. not long.

Have you guys ever played "Vietcong"? That game rocked in multi-player and had airstrikes called in by whomever was playing the radioman.

I wish i could find my discs for that game.

Air strikes are cool but it kind of resembles CoD:4 too much.
I also agree with what NADES said.

do the other classes have a roll feature. if so how do you do it?

THAT WILL BE SO COOL! ALL THE F-4 Phantoms bombing Dust2...whoa... XD

Fixing the viewdistance is what I'm in favor of. Its really annoying that things are visible at an angle, but not straight on ... and worse yet, you have a shorter view distance when scoped with a sniper (USMC or INS Enfield ... not sure about the Dragunov) than when you are unscoped. It really sucks to see a target, look right at him and still see him, scope and lose him in the "dust" of distance.
