My account got jacked..

Please do not reply to any pm or anything i send on my friends list. It got jacked last night, tried to sign on today and it told me it was an invalid pw....and i got 2 emails saying i reset my pw, while i was asleep.
 
I never gave any info. Since i installed norton, i couldnt use TF2, it viewed it as a malicious threat, so i turned it off to play...forgot to turn it back on, as i downloaded a few home movies, i had on the web, back to my computer, as i slept....woke up and now i can use my steam.
 
Hey Sticky, I'll try to provide you with some useful info. And easy on him Darth, everyone makes mistakes once in awhile. You shouldn't be too worried about your account as the "hacker" or "scammer" or whoever has your account doesn't really have too much "access" so to speak. The only real thing he/she can do is play the games you purchased.

First couple things I'd recommend is changing your passwords for all your accounts, or at least the accounts that have the same password as your Steam did. For example, if your steam password was toilet and your e-mail password was toilet. I'd recommend changing your e-mail to something else.

Second, visit https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2347-QDFN-4366. Submit a ticket and you should be able to get your account back. Typically everyone that submits a ticket will eventually get their account back within a few days. Good luck!
 
If any admins read this, i have a question. If i were not to get my original account back, and make a new steam account, can i transfer my stats to that account from my old one?
 
thanks for the heads up sticky....good luck on getting your account back....oh and fyi....norton is an expensive antivirus that is kinda retarded at times.....when your norton expires get AVG....thats what me and my entire household uses....and a few of the companies ive done security for use AVG as well....just a little bit to think about :P
 
Yeah well i went to our HLStats page and click my name and went to my steam community link number page from there, and learned it is pKu Dan that stole my account, after going to my page he joined a group from his clan, and i looked at them, he has 2 seperate accounts, one is mine, and one is his original one.......and on mine he has added friends, and deleted all mine....his friend were only added last night.
 
hmmmmm i wonder if the stats could be transferred...i dont think they can but im not 100%...if not it gives you a new slate to start with....remember its not always about the HLStats....its about the love of the game :)
 
sadly it happens to the best of us.....Same thing happened to me when I was still playing D2 LOD....I had tons of work put into it....Tons of godly items and stats....and probably some 12 year old punk behind a computer took it all away....but i started anew and built it up again....before transferring to TF2....I like TF2 better than D2 lol
 
I'm pretty sure you can't transfer your stats, but you should be able to get your account back.

Thanks, but i do hope i get the account back, the guy is on it right now playing. he even deleted all my friendslist....
 
Well, even if you do transfer the hlstats over, why would you want to open a new account rather than contact Steam and get your old one back? Otherwise, you'll even have to buy all the games again. :O
 
just incase this guy doesnt do anything stupid on my account, that i get banned 3 days later....
