All right, so last week I got a $50 Wal-Mart gift card from my uncle Don. I've been pondering all that time sense then on whether to get The Orange Box or L4D.

OB, Pros

1. I got the TF2 demo from my friend once, loved it.
2. Played Portal, loved it. (non-steam)
3. Been wanting to find out whats next in HL2
4. Ill be able to play EP2 co-op through Synergy and I can get HL2 Wars mod
5. eGO has a server.

OB, Cons

1. I already beat Portal
2. I wont be playing L4D

L4D, Pros

1. I love anything with zombies
2. I get to play with friends more often
3. More teamplayers
4. less griefing
5. eGO has a server

L4D, Cons

1. gets repetitive
2. No SDK

WOW - talk about being stuck between a slab of Bacon and the safety Dance :P

Either choice will provide solid entertainment; however, I'd probably recommend The Orange Box. The HL games are all top notch, and TF2 is an on-going source of epicness.

Orange box, much better deal.

You wont play L4D as much as you think, trust me.

Oh and by the way, I own both.

Well, I love L4D. I'm addicted to it, like, more than any person should be addicted to a game. I just love it, you can edit the sounds/music and stuff. Change the tanks music into something more epic (something I did). On the other hand, the orange box comes with HL2: EP. 1 & 2 and TF2. eGO TF2 division has brought back the events, so those are really fun, especially when the event hosts start using "enhancements" :P

Anything to bring up bacon and the safety dance, eh? :P

Wow... lol you are really late
You should have bought Orange Box when it was onsale for $10 and then gotten L4D when it was $23
You still would have had $17 left!!

ARRG, I tried to, it tortured me when L4D was $23, I almost died when OB was $10.

He has a Wal-mart gift card, i doubt steam will accept those! lol

i would also recommend left 4 dead...the only other reason i have that hasnt been listed already is that
Orange Box for PC at Walmart = $40
Orange Box for PC from Steam = $30

Left 4 Dead for PC from walmart = $40
Left 4 dead for PC from steam = $40

so i would wait till walmart drops their price on the orange box...also for some reason the orange box on ps3 and 360 is only $20 at walmart

major reason why i would get Orange Box: TF2 Division baby.

another: HL2 has a story that cannot be experienced just by reading wikipedia or combinewiki, you must experience it with your own monitor

Another: you can play with me on TF2

Just get L4D cause $40 for orange box is too much
Just a suggestion ;)

$40 is too much for 3 amazing games? Considering that 1 of the games comes with two of it's expansions (usually a $10 and $15 dollar value), another game has been majorly updated 4 times already, and promises at the very least another 5 major updates, and the third game is quite possibly one of the best games ever know?

Don't get me wrong, I love Left 4 Dead, but saying $40 is too much for the Orange Box is just silly.

but why pay 25% MORE for the same game when you can get it for cheaper?

I was replying to Allstar's comment about $40 dollars being too much. Of course, I would say go with the cheaper option if it's available and you have the means to do so. But he referenced the amount of $40. Honestly, in my opinion, the Orange Box has been a deal of a game package since it's release.

Really, if anything, it's too bad he missed the chance to pick the whole thing up for $10 on one of it's weekend sales.

Well i would get the orange box because you get TF2 and two other cool games :P

But left for dead is sorta short, I think TF2 would be more fun tho :)

just pick up orange and keep enough money in a paypal for when valve does another l4d weekend sale

Orange Box.

TF2 is win. Half-Life games are win.

L4D is also win, but it's just one game when Orange Box has manyyyyy

I got the orange box...honestly for ?5 pounds and it was possibly the best purchase I have ever made in my life :)
