IMHO, it shouldn't be officialiced its not that its bad, its just that it doesn't fit the TF2 art style by having WAAAAAY to many futuristic stuff witch doesn't match TF2's 60's art style. But beyond that its an awesome map and i wish for more upgrades to come for it.

That's exactly what we need. Not more dustbowls or fastlanes, we have enough of that theme. Black Mesa fits perfectly. I love it because it's like the best ambush map ever.
Also, ctf_mesa sounds epic!

Honestly, I feel that most (not all) of valves maps largely play the same. I agree that BM will likely never be chosen due to how different is. That doesnt matter to me. BM is a FUN map that is quite different from most other maps. Although it is a cp map, it feels different than the official cp maps. Thats what makes it fun.

Actually, I don't think that I have congratulated Dragonhill on this latest version. It's come a long way since that first alpha version that was thrown up over a year ago. I found some random screen shots of cp_blackmesa_alpha from 5/5/08 on this computer. I actually forgot that the early versions didn't have the water in A and were just insta death if you fell.

This map has come a long way, and I'm glad that it's become so popular.

I second Respawn's sentiments on Black Mesa. I remember when it was a new map and how much I hated it. I tried and tried to get into it, but couldn't. Well I played it yesterday afternoon and had an amazing time on it. I really like this version of the map and think you have a masterpiece on your hands DH, plus love the fact you cared enough to continue to work on it all this time until you worked out all the kinks and made it an extremely fun map.

Life and family...much more important than gaming.

I will be around and playing off and on, but only as a pub. The next several months are going to be interesting for me as I have to get back into the role of parenting my almost 3 yr old grandson. My oldest is going into Job Corps and gave me temp guardianship for the next 2 yrs. Sooooo time to start getting up at 7am(something I have always hated) and being full time parent to him. Plus everyone else will be leaving this summer so it will be just him and I for a month or two, so no pawning him on someone else for a day.
