Thank you for the reviews. I would get the H&K handgun if i could find one for sale near me, but the gun stores, target ranges and outdoor shops around me dont carry H&K, for some unknown reason. Also my dad is kinda shying away from the .45 now-not as strong as he used to be I guess. I know what you mean about the trouble finding a non-biased opinion, but better to have an opinion from someone that has fired a handgun opposed to just watching youtube videos to try and gauge the kickback :P. I may have to try harder to find an H&K handgun.

So I'm a little late replying to this ;-) If he's a little worried about the kick might I suggest a .38 special or a .40 semi-auto? Both still have plenty of stopping power without being overkill. In a personal protection weapon I would never get anything under a .38 (i.e. no 9mm or .32s or anything like that) - they just don't have a good enough chance of stopping someone. But, I've fired the .40 and it's a great caliber...some kick, but nothing terrible, and definitely not as strong as the .45. Just a thought.

.357
we use them at work. you can pick them up relatively cheap... and they definitely have stopping power.

plus who doesn't love a kick ass revolver?
just ask the spy

edit: also on the note of personal protection. a .357 is nice because they don't typically "accidentally go off" like a semi-auto can. you're not going to accidentally fire one of these off.

Animal Mother - I have a Mosin Nagant 91/30 as well. Mine was made in 1943 at the Tula Arsenal Plant. It fires wonderfully and are an easy to find, inexpensive option for a relic style weapon.

I also have a Browning Golden Hunter I use for Trap Shooting.

anyone know where i could buy a weather dominator or enough assualt rifles to take on G.I. Joe? Super-terrorists need guns too, and my guys are a little underpowered at the moment.

Springfield Armory XD 45ACP 13 round mag, 5.5-7.7 trigger pull (a little long, but I like the play myself), dovetail 3-dot nightsights, ambidextrous design (dual-wield anyone?)

People in California, eat your hearts out...I can't get over how silly it is that California prohibits owning firearms capable of holding more than 10 rounds...when that 11th zombie comes around the corner your a gonner :P
