I have a biostar nf520-a2, version 6.x

The sound card driver is a 5.10.0.5377 realtek hd audio driver, Codec: ALC861

The rear panel has pink, green and blue sockets. A total of three.

The Turtle Beach HPA2 has a usb power connection, with four jacks, green, orange and black, and a pink mic in. Click on the ad to view it -->

It comes with a splitter cable for the green, orange and black. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efhpa2/howdoesitwork.aspx

On the sound manager I have, I can go up to 6CH speakers.

The million dollar question (actually $99.95): Can I use the HPA2 headphones at full potential?

Haggus, to be honest, you will not get the full potential of the headsets with your onboard audio. In order to truely experience ALL of the potential that the headset has to offer, its best that you get a decent sound card. The following link is all of Turtle Beach's sound cards from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...2010290057 50001431&name=Turtle Beach/Voyetra

I myself have a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS (a few years before the Fatal1ty Series sound cards came out) & have enjoyed the experience ever since (even tho the card is over 5 years old).

Haggus, if you want to experience the full potential, get a good sound card, simply put.

good luck with the headset ;)

Ok haggus i think our little conversation has sorted that out.

hope u get it sorted real soon cos thats a great headset man

happy gaming

Thx guys, but one more question. What is the card I need to get full potential, 5.1 or 7.1, and will any old 5.1 do the job?

Ok, I've decided to go for the headset with 5.1 TB riviera sound card from amazon for $112.81 (?75) A good deal. Thanks everyone for the help, I would have to wait longer to use the headset properly without you all. Now all I have to do is wait for my mum to get a paycheck so I can use the debit card...

This is my personal opinion but i think Getting a 7.1 sound card is pointless unless u plan on buying a 7.1 surround sound system or headset. That turtle headset only does 5.1 if you look at the info on the link.

Also have u shopped around for the best deal for the soundcard your lookin at buying?
U may save money if u do ;)
