Found this on the steam forums. The link isn't working for me, I assume because so many people are clicking on it.

I bounced a quick mail to Valve’s very own Saxton Hale, TF2 lead-guy Robin Walker, who reckons there’s some sort of bug in the system that’s meaning people aren’t getting unlocks even after hours of play. “Not at all how it’s tuned,” apparently. Which is, I think, the first time I’ve been relieved to hear a game has a bug - it means the problem will get fixed.

“As in everything else we do, we want to iterate, so this is really the first step towards our desired implementation. We also think we have bugs in the system as well, since we’re seeing some players not finding any items after a few hours of play, which is not at all how it’s tuned. We want unlockable drops to be a pretty regular occurrence for players, with the cosmetic hats being the rare finds.”

Be patient, ye of little faith.

Valve's usually relatively quick on "important" bug fixes, so tonight wouldn't be too surprising.

EDIT: In response to raid, of course.

What will happen to the people who have gotten the majority of the Achievements by now? I have gotten most of them myself.

I'm pretty sure the achievements have nothing to do with the drops, so nothing should happen to them.

*breaths a sigh of relief*

This explains why I played for 8 hours and got...a blutsager..

while people were joining and getting 2-3 things :(

Thanks for posting this tp ><

It really shows that this update was rushed. So many bugs, glitches and a broken unlock system. :(

And this is why telling Valve to hurry up with things is a bad idea. Although, a full tested update prolly wouldn't have been out for another 2 months or so.

Seriously though, I'd rather wait a month or two and get a finished update. The Ambassador is awfully broken, the unlock system doesn't work well for most people and Backstabs can crash your game. :(
