I'm going to respond here, because I am the admin in question.
The problem occurred in the sniper server this afternoon, at about 12:30PM EST. From when I joined, every minute or two, Dirk would type "rank" in the chat box to make it appear. After a map switch (after about 6 minutes), he continued to do it very frequently, and I told him (in private chat, so as not to make a major issue of it) that bringing it up so much was excessive. By my count, this occurred 10 times in under 15 minutes, and I found it very annoying. After my initial response, he did it again, with the following responses interspersed:
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: i can check it thanx pal
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: like to see what points i lose fore whio
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: lol your THE ONLY one ever complain and ive been playing here a month
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: 6 hours a day
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: so have fun on ur power trip
=(e)=? Dirk diggler: im out peace
I have a full condump here for anybody who would like to see it as well. I'm here to have fun and play the game, not to see "Dirk diggler: rank 6/xxxxx" every minute and a half. That's why I often use "hlx_display 0" and disable my stats from even showing. Personally, I found this action to be very annoying, and that was the reason behind my mentioning that it was excessive. I specifically warned him that if he continued to spam the chat box he could be kicked for it because I read the first comment as a bit disrespectful at the moment, especially given how minor the problem I brought up was in the first place.
If I am wrong in taking action to try and minimize an action that I believed was annoying (and honestly, rather arrogant, given the high rank involved) to other players in the server, I would appreciate it if an administrator would let me know.
