I don't have it yet. But I already met the arrow, very closely.

personally i find it has some issues with hitboxes >.> i dont have it yet but a sniper was looking the other direction, im still cloaked and he is'nt looking anywhere near me...suddonly i have an arrow sticking out of my chest...

and its annoying when an arrow takes me from 125 to 0 health in one shot >.> and i was'nt even what he was aiming at

He probably twitch shot it. It has hitbox issues in that it's difficult to get a headshot on some characters from behind (Demoman, in particular, I have noticed). But the issues are mainly for the benefit of the receiver of the arrow, not the shooter.

Also, you probably shouldn't have been walking in front of a Sniper drawing his bow and arrow, especially when you are aware of how big the arrow's hitbox is.

i LOVE the huntsman. Its a completely different weapon from the sniper, so i think sniper lovers might not be so fond of it. But its fun to play a class where you can get closer to the front lines and still get kills from a distance

Only used it on my bro's account. Close range against unsuspecting classes? Awesome. Long range in a sniper-duel? You're toast if the other guy's still using the sniper rifle and knows you're there :P

Which is why I still <3 my good 'ol rifle. I still wanna find the huntsman so I can go battle-sniper if I need too, but support sniper's better with the rifle. :P

This is totally true. It's pretty much impossible to take down a rifle-bearing Sniper with the Huntsman. Which is why I generally avoid it and Jarate my way into battle! >_>

It is so different from the sniper rifle. Personally I get more kills with the regular sniper rifle, the sniper just doesn't have the hp for the kind of close up fighting that the huntsman seems to insist upon. Sure im going to be using the huntsman sometimes just for fun but the plain old sniper rifle is just better.

I find you're way more versatile with the Huntman than the rifle. I've found myself going into situations as Sniper with Huntsman and surviving and getting a buttload of kills which I, personally, couldn't have gotten with the rifle.

I have never used it/never will... Its not worth it. Unless, of course, you set the arrows on fire. Then its worth it.

Yes but normally with a sniper rifle you would not even get into those situations since you are so far away from the battle. I also find it too hard to pull off headshots with the huntsman but that is just me. When I play sniper I want to play an actual sniper, not a close range combat class, if I want that I will play soldier.

I learned its terrible on blackmesa compared to the sniper itself. Heres the scenario for me (Sniper with rifle) and random pub (Sniper With Huntsman)

Him: FIRE
ME: Dodge left, Fire
Him: *death*
Him: FIRE
ME: Dodge left, Fire
Him: *death*
Him: FIRE
ME: Dodge left, Fire
Him: *death*

it goes on like that for about a half hour.

So its good for MEDIUM-CLOSE range against a normal rifle. Long range is so easy to dodge you could watch it approach before moving at all.

It looks awesome. I have played for hours and still haven't gotten it... Oh well, I'll just have to backstab all the snipers instead.

Its amazing. I do find myself using it constantly and really pushing people back with it. They get afraid of the arrows flying by them and back up I guess. I also have a really easy time getting close range headshots. I think it makes it easier to get really cool shots, people run out of places without fear because they don't see the dot, and then an arrow is in their face.

And... it sticks people to the wall. I love it when I get a kill on a spy thats cloaked in the entrance to 2Fort and then go up them and sitck 5 or 6 arrows in them as a warning to others....

Bow = Win.

um....let me get this straight.........

YES!!!!!!!!!

to bad I still have no Razorback to go with it.....:cursing:

It's true, but overall you're far more versatile as a player. I've rushed into the enemy intel in 2Fort and managed to make it out with the intel because I was headshotting people left and right with my Bow (also, I did a fortuitously well-timed Jarate that allowed a Pyro to plow away a lot of the enemies for me).

You still have the long-range capability of a Sniper (albeit much less) while gaining a new ability to be a real asset at the front line. For instance, camping at the top of 2Fort sewer stairs or in the sewer is still very possible and deadly with the bow, but if an enemy gets close, you're still very much a dangerous opponent.

And I find it much easier to headshot with the Huntsman, actually. The hitbox for the arrow is much bigger than you'd expect, and shooting anywhere near the head (neck-up) result in a headshot.

I'm liking it. For me, it is the ability to move around with it. The rifle, you more or less stood your ground. With the bow, you can pop in, shoot, and pop back behind cover. Not getting a lot of head shots that way, but I'm surprised how effective the arrow spam can be.
