RECRUITING. My job, and yours.

I will try to keep this short and sweet.
One of the main reasons the EdgeGamers is so great, is because we are so big, but at the same time so tight. Like a family.

The way we do this is we are ALWAYS and CONSTANTLY recruiting.

I'm an Admin Recruiter (from here on out A/R). But that does not mean its only my job to recruit. We (EdgeGamers) need your help too.

This is as much your home, as it is mine.

You got a friend on your steam-list that isn't a member? Invite him. Bring him to the website. Show him the recruiting office. Or give his name to someone you know is in the A/R.

Word of mouth is the BIGGEST advertising tool we have. Obviously you love it here. Bring in your friends too!

Lastly I want to touch on: Working WITH us, not AGAINST us.

There have been times in server when I see an eGO member (A/R or otherwise) trying to talk to a pub-player about the organization, why its great, Or how to join. And ANOTHER eGO member (I've seen this from (e) all the way up to (eGO) rank) will say something smart ass, basically contradicting what the member (who's trying to get MORE members) is saying.

Yes. We love to have fun. And yes maybe >WE< the members know you are joking. But that pub, and the other pubs watching, might not. Remember. If someone is actively recruiting, or even just handing out information that WILL bring in new members. Either help them out. Or please keep quiet. We (The A/R's and non-A/R members alike) are tasked with keeping this organization growing and healthy. If you actively stop that from happening, and I'm in the server, I might likely kick you from the server.

This last part is not a threat. But it comes down to what WE ALL agreed to when we signed up. And thats to follow the rules, help the organization, and back each other up. If you stop ANYONE from doing that. Then you need to rethink your priorities.

Yeah i can't stress how much i agree with rellik on this. Even if it's private in admin chat, comments from o's like "can i join?" is actually quite fustrating. As an AR your always recruiting and actually an O being a wise ass and asking to join for like the 10000 time isn't that funny ^^, its an old joke now, your not the first to do it. Its not so much i dont have a sense of humor, its more the fact sometimes i miss pubs asking to join because a few egos do. I know you guys are only kidding but it would be mroe helpfull if you didn't. Thanks

As for me, i try the odd person to person and some of my friends dont really have the games in TF2 So i cant ask them to join really

With you guys on this. We are also told to give a united front for our pubs to see, it would be unprofessional not to work together and show support for those who recruit. I know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the A/R team. So lets all work together and support those who recruit and do some recruiting ourselves.

Rob makes a good point. It's funny, but its not. Seeing countless e's say "I want to join!!!" or "I want admin!!!" makes us do this ---> :facewall:

If you want to help the recruiting process, you can. Here's how you do it: If you see an A|R, or anyone for that matter, recruiting while you're playing a game, do not interfere. It's that simple. Let the guy recruiting do their job, and you do yours (in this case, being an admin and/or mature player on the server).

Yea, i always try and recruit, whenever im playing, i look for pubs that are good and seem to enjoy the game alot, and get involved. Then i ask them, add them on steam and guide them on every step to joining. I cant wait to join the AR team.

Nothing wrong with this. Infact its one of the most successful ways TO recruit! Keep it up. Remember just because they aren't on your friends list, doesn't mean they aren't your friend or that you don't atleast know them. If you have played with a pub long enough to recognize them by name, and seen them more than 2 or 3 times...... You can go ahead and call them your friend (as much as one can be while killing each other)

The One-To-One type of recruiting is the BEST way to work with these people.

2. Ya'll know each other
3. Ya'll both love Rellik

If you are skilled or not, that doesn't really matter, we do not select people for being skilled, but for being mature.

You can invite anyone, and help anyone with the application, but remember only admin recruiters or the leadership can accept it.

Usually I have a lot of contact with medics or other players, it does help a bit if you are skilled, because people will add you to your friendlist easier, especially medics in my experience. Usually I select out friendly players and ask if he/she likes playing on the server, if he says yes you can always send him out to check out the website, maybe even convince her/him joining.

But there are many ways, sometimes people just ask about eGO and you can tell them what it is all about, they become interessted and you got yourself a recruit
