I think you got it all wrong.
The idea is not to divide eGO members into ethnic groups, it's the other way around. Uniting them closer to the community.

No decision has been made on anything, this is still just an Idea.
One Ambassador per country, city and or language is all optional depending on the demand. One Ambassador for all of West and North Europe could be enough, who knows.

To understand the need/demand we need to learn how many members we have in each country. Using a poll and or other means to find out the country origin of our members.

We are still growing and the demand will come for more specific and more local Ambassadors in the near feature.

Let me hence the fact It's a service to assist our International members not to separate them. As well as getting people more involved Internationally such as in IRL Events, Grill party's, LAN-party and why not raffles as well. Not everyone can go to LA or Boston ( USA ) for an event if they are in Europe.

Wow, nice I look forward for this. I speak both Filipino and English of course so for any help in the Philippine nation then I would like to involved in this along the lines... since im only an =(e)= for the mean time. hehe
 
Yes, but if someone whos native tongue is lets say spanish, and now we have an ambassador that we can talk spanish around and not break the rules, then what is the need to speak english anymore? It will be like highschool cliques, people hanging around whereever they feel is easier to communicate.

Everyone will have their own little clique, and isn't that the reason the DoD houses were shutdown?
 
Guys were not talking about interlingustic divisons
we are talking about a leader. This position would be the "go to guy" if for example a player who doesn't speak english that well couldn't understand a forum post. It also acts as a representative for countires, maybe for example we get a surge of chineese players,a dn teh chineese ambassador for ego would perhaps drive for a chineese server or soemthing. Thats just one bad exampel but you get the point. I dont think this was a "thets have interlanguage divisions in ego" just a representative for different cultures. Sorry about the spelling/typos im really tiered its 1am here.

The point is this post is not interlingual divisions, but that is how it will turn out.
 
From what I've read in the comments, this idea seems to be focusing around the language, yet you say it will be for all non-US countries. So what about English speaking countries like the UK? Will an ambassador even be needed?
 
if it's going to happen then mix countries together like norway, sweeden and denmark.
our languages are nearly the same and you don't need a specific ambassador for all 3.
just to minimize the number of people else it will get pretty confusing fast, if all 195 countries or so in the world had an ambassador.

Most of us understand all three, so year that would be a good idea.
 
This is a great ideo in my opinion as said i think that this should bring in a whole bunch of people who have known eGO as an English speaking clan and to know that there are now ambassadors who can speak the language of his country he can go to that man and they can ask questions in their own language and feel more at home with eGO but still knowing that eGO is english and that it would be a requirement (sort of) to understand it as a whole like on the forums and in the game chat, therefore they as i said mean they are more relaxed without the tension of them struggling each day with problems they have but are too shy to try and say it, so they go and ask a capable leader of that culture and they can clear it up for them :)

But as said i wouldnt think that a requirement for an ambassador for each country is needed but yet an ambassador that can look after a few countries for their languages are literally the same, but maybe for english as an example people who are far away and rarely come on when to the game say like an Australian who is about 13 who has to sleep when most of the countries are just signing in or getting online, although there is normally a steady flow of people who can speak english in the East he may not know them as well as he would with friends from America who he knows but is asleep/not online, or he/she does not have many friends to ask that Question to this then i think an ambassador would possibly be needed down there although there are few Australians around that i know of asides myself but im in the UK atm but im sure 1 person wouldnt mind looking after the worries that some people would have down in the Outback :)

Personally, I love the idea. What I've come to known about EGO since joining is that we're a group of gamers that love to play games, and meet other people. With those two basic characteristics, strong friendships can be formed and we look forward to playing our games with our fellow members. Having this ambassador program is just another avenue to fulfilling that enjoyment and opening new avenues of communication to other individuals that may not have that option. I do recognize the potential problems, such as what patronofspys brought up. But honestly, if we, as members of EGO, followed the beliefs and standards that EGO embrace, this problem shouldn't even exist. However, if there are those amongst us that worry first about empowering themselves and not helping others, then that brings into question their moral integrity, as well as what kind of example they're trying to create for others.

Additionally, I do not speak my birth country's language, but I would be proud to be a part of this program for South Korea, just so I get the opportunity to at least learn more about my culture and the chance to learn/improve another language.
 
I would definitely support this idea. For me, I speak three dialtects.
Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
I was born in Hong Kong.
I can write, speak, read and listen to all three languages perfectly.
The problem is how far do you want to go? I mean we have to keep it as an English-speaking server.
There is still a problem getting more players from other countries to play. Ping (connection) is also a problem. Well these are all players' issue, not really our problem.

I would say, sign up for ambassador, and have a new office and new leader for this office.
 
So if we get more 'non'- English speaking people, does that mean we have to get 'non'- English speaking servers? I'm all for going international but you have to realize. How are they going to admin English speaking people? If they don't know the language? How are the English speaking people going to admin 'non' - English speaking people. You can't always be around to hold their hand. Does this make sense ?

I don't really agree to the groups,
1. They will turn into houses like DoD:S use to have.
2. More forums, more places to moderate, ect. ect.
3. More leaders?

Good idea, but I think this idea needs some tweaking.


Maybe we could have 'representative's' for each country? Like we have a list of people that are from those said countries ? And have links to their profiles. That way these people that 'kind' of speak English could go to those said people on the 'country' list? If they have questions.

Maybe I am not understanding the 'tittle' of this. Idk, maybe we could talk and figure out a way to make this work with out having the extra forums, mods, leaders, ect. ect.
