-Do i need to apply to become an eG or does it come later (like through time)?
-(If YES on the 2nd choice of first question) If i change my name then would be time for being an =(e)= start again?

I'll attempt to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
1). No, eG's are not "applied" for: You may hear that "admin is free", but to get promoted, it isn't about how good you are at the game, how long you've been with eGO, or whether you plead to leadership to get promoted. The golden rule is that you NEVER MENTION promotions. NEVER ask for a promotion, NEVER even think about a promotion. e's are promoted on conduct and maturity, and how well they can handle things, and if they are good candidates for admins: again, it is NOT by how good you are at the game, or the length of time you are in eGO. The best player in the world could join eGO, who has a 20:1 k/d ratio, but if he was just an idiot, he wouldn't get promoted.
2). Changing your name I believe doesn't make you start from e again. However, it is highly frowned upon. Imagine if all the eGO's decided to change their names, and the chaos that would occur.

im not urging myself to become a "G" nor pleading. however that question is really bugging me, i know i should not ask for this, and now i have a bad rep now but before in earlier games such as Battlefield 2 i joined a clan and such. but thanks for the help Batterytime.

To give you a more definitive answer.

No you do not apply to become an eG. Really all i have to say about this is for patience and to do your best to contribute to the community without being overzealous...if you know what i mean. But here is the section on Promotions from the recruitment forum:
Promotions
Skill level has nothing to do with promotions. Maturity has everything to do with it. We would rather have someone who can barely play, is a lot of fun and carries with them a sense of integrity, than someone who is PWNTASTIC and acts immature.

In holding ourselves to a higher standard of conduct, we lead by example and it is more likely you will be kicked or banned for rule breaking than someone who hasn't joined the forums.

Getting promoted to =(eG)=™ or =(eGO)=™ also has nothing to do with time in the clan. We cannot stress this enough. It is the effort you put into the servers and the contributions you make to the clan.

Some factors we look at include:

1. Your playing time in the servers and love of the game.

2. Your maturity and ability to make the correct decisions in the servers. (Are you ready to switch sides when needed, or do you instead just say "TEAMS"?)

3. Your forum activity - Do you contribute to the clan outside of playing the game? (Some members are promoted only on server time and not on forum activity. People are rarely promoted based on forum activity alone.)

4. Age - Our youngest member is 13, our oldest member is 58. We look at age and try to keep a good balance between older and younger.

5. Location - We might promote Hawaiians, Brits, Euro's and Aussies a bit quicker since we need admin coverage in off hours.

6. Donations do not guarantee a promotion, but they do get you noticed. People who donate are mentioned in the news, allowing others to learn your name quicker and so might watch to see if you meet the 5 above requirements a little quicker than someone who did not make the news.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DONATE TO BE PROMOTED. The vast majority of Admins are not donors.

7. Remember, at the =(e)=™ level, you are NOT an admin yet. So don't try to be. When an =(eG)=™ or (eGO)=™ member is in the server watch how he or she admins.

They will teach you if you just watch. Let them handle the issues on the server.

The Council and Advisors are always watching to see who is ready. We also listen to what other clan members think about a player.

The best way to NEVER get promoted is "ASKING FOR A PROMOTION". Just play and have fun.


As far as I know, name changes are fine, as long as you are an =(e)=. After you are promoted to eG or eGO we prefer that you do not change your name. In order to change your name you need to reapply stating who you are and that you'd like to change your name, and obviously change your name on the forums.

Hi,

Let's calm down a bit. No one will give you a bad rep for asking the question about the promotion process. Whinning will get you noticed. Not in a good way.

The name thing goes like this. You can change your name as an =(e)= but you should let one of your division advisors know. They may ask you to put in a new application. They may not. HLstats tracks you by your steam id so there is a record of all the names you've played under. Pick a name that your comfortable with and stick with it. When the eGO's and advisors are kicking around promotion possibilities they remember names, not numbers.
Once you are an =(eG)= you should not change your name. It can be done but it's an awkward thing.

Promotions are based on the following: Be active in forums, be active in the servers. Do not disrespect people. Have fun. Be mature.

Maturity does not mean you know how to swear and you think gore is cool. Maturity means: You treat others with respect. You take defeat and victory with grace. You help others when they ask for it.​

So figure out what name you want. (Search the members list, no duplicates allowed) Play in the servers. Place good thoughtful posts on the servers. Have fun. The promotion will be a surprise. Mine were.
