An insane virus on my computer... HELP!

Almost sounds like your bragging about being foolish. At the very least everyone should have a good free program such as malwarebytes, there is 0 reason not to.

Combining anti-virus is not good. I stick with one amazing one called Spyware Doctor. It costs $30.00, and that's for lifetime. It's amazing software.

i am not combining antivirus's. nod32 is the only antivirus I have. As for the spyware programs, I run them one at a time using administrator mode.

It works fine.

And as for bullet saying you have no viruses, well, you cant know that unless you scan. Viruses and spyware dont exactly tell you they are on your computer.

Nod32 got rid of a really nasty virus I had for a while. Definitely give it a try.

NOD32 is the best anti-virus software I've ever had. I still have yet to find a better anti-virus.

My anti-viruses:
Avira AntiVir (free edition)
SUPERANTISPYWARE (free edition)
Malwarebytes (free Edition)

With those three and careful site viewing It's difficult to get a virus. I Have been infested with the Vundo/variant. This virus, you do not mess with. I had to reformat my whole HDD. That was about a few months ago and with that experience, I learned to scan everything I download and investigate any sites that offer downloads such as FPSbanana.

iv made a disk image of my windows install plus my main applications and i am able to check consistency between the disk image and the real partition.

When i get virus's, i have really good spyware so it puts it in quarenteened but if it doesnt i bring it to this guy my grampa knows who is a wiz at computers and he fixs it, but if you want a tip. When your downloading things off the inernet virus scan the files before you download it but i hope you can fix it

Alright, so here's the skinny of things. About 3 weeks ago I visited FPSBanana to download a few skins for the pyro/jarate/few other things. Upon my downloading of one of them, I downloaded what I now know is probably the most insane Trojan I've ever dealt with. Davethegreat has been helping me for hours, and what it comes down to, is that I'm going to have to flash my bios/reformat tomorrow....

But, here's the wild part: It keeps taking over after I run malwarebytes in safe mode. It always deletes 30+ items... Whenever I reboot into normal windows mode, it shows Malware Doctor right away running a scan.. I've never downloaded this program, so I assume it's part of the trojan. I go to ctrl-alt-delete, and it says my system admin has disabled the task manager (I'm my own admin, obviously, and have never set defaults/etc).... When I run MalwareBytes, it does allow me to reboot and get into the task manager for a few seconds...

But alas, there's more! I cannot open up Internet Explorer in normal windows mode (I'm writing this in safe mode right now), AIM, and can not install Kaspersky... (There's an error at the end of the installation that will not allow it to install.)

Any tips/ideas????

Sounds like it's gotten into your registry. Everytime you boot Windows, it launches. Since you've reformatted, it's wiped out along with everything else natch. Get Spybot - it prevents a registry change unless you approve first.

I've had Spybot S&D before. Using kaspersky right now until the free trial is up.. If I'm satisfied with the product, then I'll go to buy it later.

This is part of the reason I turned down kapersky. Try Nod32 antivirus, it doesn't have such lame install limitations and does a better job of everything computer security related. They have a 1 month trial so you can give it a try if you want before reformatting.

Nod32 is awesome i tried the 1 month trial but i'm to poor to afford it. My laptop has been running it for 18 days with no firewall and never gotten any malware or trojans from downloads =)

I usually take care of most viruses first by booting into safe mode, then use regedit to edit the registry, then run Malaware Bytes to scan it to remove anything I didn't get, and then boot the PC into normal mode.

Of course, I use my Laptop to get directions on how to remove the virus threat, otherwise I will reinstall windows. I only back up any games that I play online, and documents that may come in handy in the future. Anything else though, goes away with the format.
