Servers stop responding

Starting today, occasionally I get what looks like a lag spike in CS:S, but then it shows a "Connection Problem" message at the top-right of the screen and disconnects. Then for the next 10 or 20 seconds or so, I get a "server not responding" message when I refresh my server list.

Also, this only seems to happen with the new servers; I haven't had a chance to try the older ones yet, but they don't have the "not responding" in the list when this happens.

Mostly Harmless suggested bad hop to the server; is there a way to get around this (other than relocating :P)?

If its just a bad hop to the connected server there is no way around it. Time will fix it, most of the time bad hops are caused by the internet provider working on the line that owns the cable, so most likly it's just bad timing for you. I'v had this happen in CSS one week you're ping is excellent the following three weeks its terrible then for a year after that its perfect. If it continues for more then 1 week you should download a program that counts hops between your IP and the server, each count will give you the ping in milliseconds and let you know were the bad hop might be if all pings are good then it could be something with your computer.
