Dust / Office server

Personally I prefer Dust 2/unlimited, the newer Dust is (imho) cluttered, too big, and really not suited for smaller amounts of players. Dust 2 may not look as pretty, but it plays way better. As for office, again, the older version of Office worked better than the new one. But thats just my opinion :-D

I'd have to agree although I like the Dust2 Unlimited with its graphics and Charlie tower :biggrin:, but I could only play it for maybe an hour or so before it got old. Dust2 however has grown on me and I really enjoy playing on it now, even though every time I get on there I'm the enemies MVP, killing my own teammates every other RPG... :thumbdown: :mellow: The office map in general I don't like much, the game play on it is just too close, I feel to have in INS. Its a challenge trying to keep from killing your teammates, while at the same time trying jump out of the way of incoming grenades and oncoming enemies.

This however won't be a problem anymore because the Dust2 server now runs Dust2 24/7... Population, also our server ranking went back up where it was before we changed the server so that it would run Dust Unlimited and Office.

This is just my opinion. I think we should leave it dust2. When we went to Ultra dust it dropped off. When we added Office to the mix, it still dropped off. We go back to the original setting of Dust 2, the rank goes back up.

I would like to get everyone's opinion as to which Dust map they prefer. Currently we have Dust2 and Unlimited_Dust4. So my question is this, would you like to play Dust2 / Office 5, Unlimited_Dust4 / Office 5 / Dust2, Unlimited_Dust4 and Office 5

I think the server should be DUST 24/7 with all versions of DUST in rotation.

but we would have a problem when the Dust 2 gets in that time bug.

it would get stuck there , thats where the RTV would come in however it should switch the map after the vote wins.. not wait till the end of the round.

At this point, we played around with different versions of Dust2 and Office and the rankings went down. We switched it back to original Dust2 (slightly newer version) only and it's back up to the number two ranked server. Can't argue with #2.

Yeah, with Dust2 24/7 currently it constantly gets stuck in Sudden Death due to players not even going for capture points, just kills.

Well I looked around in there, that is where I usually find my custom maps that I need to download some where in that site. You might have some different luck though, just give it a try? Sorry I couldn't be more help..

What happens when you try to connect to the server?

The Steam\Steam Apps\Source Mods\Insurgency\Maps folder would be the best place to grab it from if you can't find it anywhere else.

The files were given to the INS division by the creator. This is not a license for everyone who wants to throw up as server.

That doesn't make much sense to me since eGO aren't the only people running the map..how can I contact the creator?

The Dust maps are cool, but I can't help but feel too reminiscent of CS when i play them.
