Shooting in spawn...
1. It's unnecessary. Your gun WILL work, there's no sense testing it.
2. It wastes ammo. I've seen players shooting off rounds running out of spawn, and then yelling for ammo when they get to the fighting.
3. It's just plain niosy.
4 It's distracting. If a player has to turn around to see if it's a bad guy flanking or some yahoo with an itchy finger and gets killed, then the player that did the shooting while running out of spawn just got a teammate killed, and possibly a flag/game lost.
5. It scares the children and annoys the old folks.
6. It's confusing. Players use sound to tell where the fighting is, and especially those with headphones can tell from listening to gunfire and watching the death messages who got killed where. Unnecessary gunfire makes it tougher to do so.
7. It causes unnecessary team action. Players in set positions protecting flags or high traffic areas will shift positions to react to gunfire behind them may cause the other team to cap a flag or take control of a control point.
8. TAGGED PLAYER WHO DO SO SET A BAD EXAMPLE. Players with any level of eGO who do so are training pub players that negative behaviours and bad habits are allowed.
9. Smoking kills. Unnecessary use of smoke grenades gives the enemy cover, and blocks MGs and snipers vision. It also causes players with less than perfect computer specs to loose framerate or cause lag spikes on their machines.
10. It affects the entire team. Anything that you do that causes a teammate to get killed or fail to protect a flag, or even your back is not team friendly. The reason we play DoD and not CS is because it's a TEAM oriented game, not a "ME" oriented game.
11. Sprays are not targets. Shooting another players spray is a good way to start an ego fight. Some players will take it personally and figure out some way to retaliate. This usually escalates.
12. Shovels are for digging holes. Either in the ground, or in a bad guys head. Shoveling a team mate (especially a setup MG or sniper), makes absolutely no sense at all.
