Bullets and walls

For some reason latley, i've been getting sniped through walls, is there shoot through walls or is it just someone hacking?

I know the MGs go through walls, and I think the occasional sniper bullet does, but it could also be a killcam error, somtimes it shows the guy as across the map whenever he his right by me

there is also a video card glitch that happens from time to time, this can be fixed by recording a demo for a second and then stopping it, try that in game and if it still doesn't work, spec them and see what they do

Yeah, if you Alt-Tab out of the game and come back, you'll see the following glitches:

- Players running prone or crouched
- Players killing you from behind walls
- Players killing you from a far map location

Those players are NOT hacking, it's a client side glitch which happens on your side only, so when one of those things happen, you're just not seeing the players where/how they should be.
To fix this, just record a demo and stop it. Here's a useful bind to record demos.

alias demostart "record demoname; alias demo demostop"
alias demostop "stop; alias demo demostart"

bind "KEY" "demostart"

Press your bound key to start the demo, press it again to stop it. If you use this more than once you will, overwrite your demo, so if you want to keep a copy, you should go to:

*\Steam\steamapps\ACCOUNTNAME\day of defeat source\dod

and rename your *.dem file.

Most guns can shoot through various objects, though at reduced damage.

like said before you can shoot through walls with sniper and mg, but snipers only go through the window sill and maybe a wall (if lucky) and mgs go through most walls that arent stone

Another way to "shoot thru walls"

There is also a glitch, that if you are laying down in a building with the wall behind you, part of your foot will show on the outside of the building. The enemy can kill you by shooting your foot that sticks out thru the wall. To prevent this make sure you move away from the wall far enough so that your foot does not touch the wall.
