Dlink vs. Linksys?

Hmm im deciding if I should get a new router and not sure if I should upgrade or not. Im currently using a WRT54G and I see everyone else using dlink routers.

DLink has an excellent gaming router. That would be the way to go.

I personally voted Linksys only from the past experiences that anything that DLink sells, for less than $200.00 is crap. They have awesome gear if you spend a lot of cash. Linksys on the otherhand, is now owned and operated by Cisco Systems, the premier leader in networking technology. Linksys gets my vote by association with Cisco Systems. DLink gets my props for being an awesome sponsor.

i voted Dlink cuz they are one of the only routers i've ever owned.

I have a Linksys router and it sucks... 125$ for something that randomly restarts and disconnects your internet ye- no...

If Dlink had something for the same amount I would have had gone with them.

I have a DLink but cant use it cause how my internet works, but its great for X360 LAN parties.

My DLink is an amazing router, got it and have had 0 problems ever since I have gotten it. No random shutoffs, no download speed limiting, ext.

My vote is linksys. If you got a cable to connect to your router, zip zip your internet goes. I downloaded a 1 GB file in like 10 mins.

basically they are both great companies and i have not had a problem with either company.
But I have the Dlink Xtreme N router ( should have got gaming router with gamefuel but oh well) And i love it easy to set up and use and over a year of use with no problems.

Linksys

I've bought one router from them 3 years ago, it's still serving me well and I've never had any problems with it. Very reliable.
I may go with Dlink if I ever start hosting LAN parties with my friends, I hear their stuff is pretty good.

I use Linksys routers, but I don't use their stock firmware. Linksys + DD-WRT = win.

If you want top notch gaming...D-Link. If you don't want to spend as much money, Linksys. Overall, I am willing to pay $150 for a router so D-Link for me.

If we are talking routers, I prefer either a Linksys or a DLink. If we are talking Switches or Hubs, I prefer Netgear.
