Hey guys, well news came my 10 year old Compaq Presario SR1215CLs motherboard fried.

I went to ibuypower and sorted through and built me this PC for 761$s which I rather love the price.

I wanna know if yall think its epic or if anything should be tweaked to meet required preformence.

Be aware I dont need a hardcore PC - I only play Source games or AA3 and not stuff like Crysis so 800-1000$ pc is not what I think I need.

But tell me what you guys think and if I should tweak or change anything and please explain in detail why. :3.
Cause it'll be hard to get the money and going up will need to be reasonable.

Again I just want a PC that will run any source game on a good setting (eG All med or high) and give me a better FPS and smoother gameplay without costing me a ton.

I don't think you need a PSU with that much wattage but other than that, it looks pretty good.

Responding to the PM you sent me about what PSU you should get, I would say 650, maybe 700 watts at the most. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

less is it is a quality power supply. be aware that the 9500 will play current source games OK, but won't play anything decent coming down the pipeline.

Money is better spent upgrading the graphics card and going with a dual core processor.

Here is a nicer build, with a corsair power supply and ATI 4870 1GB for $723.

also, if you like intel, the same configuration above with a E8400 (3.0GHZ C2D) is $776. That might be worth it over the amd rig. both are the weekly specials, in case you want to tweak the incidentals a bit.

Either way, a fast dual core with the 4870 will last you a lot longer, and perform way better in games, than a quad with the 9500.

32 bit home basic? you need the 64 bit home basic cause 32 bit can only run 3.0 of your ram (I remember)

Better?, I'm more an Intel then AMD guy.
Nividia + Intel.

With vista it comes out to 856. :/
I wanna spend my money on a good PC that can at least let me run Any source game eg, TF2/CSS on all high so and least with CSS give me 100+FPS and on TF2 the required amount to run without FPS dragging.
Would this be good?

If you like nvidia, get the gtx 260 for the same price. Otherwise go ahead and buy! 32 bit is is fine, it will just use 3.5gb of your ram, which is no biggie.

Mkay.

But my only deal is Power Supply.
Whats the recommended?

Think ? I'm 100% sure you can run that PC with a 400W power supply.

A HIGH quality PSU, yes. But running your PSU at that close to it's maximum load that often isn't exactly a good idea. Getting a more powerful high quality PSU will ensure no problems arise and you will be able to carry it over into your next build. It's a better investment.

Extra cooling... like more fans or aftermarket heatsink?

Deff get a better heatsink if you plan on overclocking, and for any extra fans.. if they're cheap go ahead and get them, the more airflow the better.

There is my build I've worked up.
Please qoute any changes I should recommend :/

Get a phenom II 940 black and an ATI 4870 1 GB along with vista home premium, basic is so horrible its not cool. vista comes with a free upgrade to 7 when it comes out ( if I'm correct)

Ugh the 2nd one hurts the eyes hold on.

Case
Raidmax Enzo Gaming Tower Case Red

Processor
Go for a quad *hint hint*

Memory
4 GB [2 GB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module-Corsair-Value or Major Brand 4 gigs is plenty

Video Card
ATI 4870 1 GB

Motherboard
Can't really comment on motherboards cause I don't know much about them

Power Supply
I'd recommend a PC P&C PSU but corsair is good too.

Sound Card
Really don't need anything special

Network Card
nothing really special here either.

Hard Drive

should check to see how much a 1 TB harddrive is

Operating System
read above

mouse/keyboard/ ETC is whatever you like

Speaker System
Wouldn't recommend a subwoofer for a computer but if you want it go for it.

Built-in USB 2.0 Ports
Make sure you get enough USB ports. Their easy to fill up.
