I was talking with my co-worker about VHS days, before DVD and DVR...do you guys remember the good ol' rewind and fast forward buttons, or the recording of your favorite television shows, or the huge tape recorder to record family reunions? Just brought back memories good and bad :glare:. What do you guys remember?

Good heavens yes! I worked in a video shop in the UK for a year or so and it was all VHS then.

The original videos would cost about ?60.00 to buy and were rented out for about ?1.50 for a top title.

Most interesting fact from my time working there is that Back to the future was the most popular video in the shop. We had 8 copies and each copy had made about ?1,500 profit.

This was around 1988.

I still have about 100+ VHS in a box in my house. some great classics in my collection I still watch :D

I remember video stores back in the day were stacked with those huge cases, can't imagine how bulk inventory was.

When MJ died i pulled out my old school MJ videos and Moonwalker cassettes, i also have He-Man and TMNT.

Of course I remember. I remember when I could be watching a video, stop it, head over to someone else's house and pick it up right where I left it off without any hassle. Then, when a tape got too worn out I would unwind the film and see how many times I could get it to go around the outside of my house. Good times.

i had a Beta player
i had a VCR where to load it a cage popped up from the top
i had a remote with an OMG Remote!! (it was wired to the vcr, and had like a 50 foot long cord)

I still have a ton of old VHS tapes for the original versions of the movies... Then again I have a lot of those in blu ray now.

I like the old fuzzyness and random black spots, nostalgia ftw.

Ah...the days when watching a movie too many times would result in terrible distortion of sound and picture so that you had to watch your favorite movie with the top half an inch farther to the left...good times.

i remember those days, i remember watching those videos (in my language (Hmong)) that my dad bought from the Hmong New Year. some of the videos were full of lulz and some of them are plain boring like bull fighting...(my dad has over 40 videos of it..) XP

all of the VHS i have are Anime. lol :P

ahh vhs... for too long i held my finger down on that accursed rewind button :P, the good ole days. I remember the first movie my parents bought in VHS was star wars and boy, that got me hooked right thar

What the heck is VHS?! Are they the oversized cassette tapes that never did fit in my radio? If so, I gave 30 of them to my friend and he lined them up at a range and killed it with a .50 Cal. Good times!

those tape rewinders back then were cool, especially the ones shaped like cars. :D

I have a giant stack of VCR's in my garage, and yet no VHS...It was at the bottom of the stack of VCR's and the garage flooded :(
I should really get a second hand one, cause there is a heap of videos I want to watch but couldn't.
