windows 7 rig

i want to start buying parts leading up to building up a new rig for windows 7. i have never built a rig, so i am going to need some help from you enthusiast. i have a budget around 1200 dollars. i already have a monitor so you can exclude that from the price. If anyone can gather up a list of what to get, the sooner i can start ordering the stuff from newegg.
