Awarded in recognition of service to his or her country in the armed forces, firefighting or law enforcement. May also be awarded for other types of service not mentioned here, to be determined on a case by case basis.

Army- Fort Benning- Harmony Church - 11b-p 1985-1987 (pathfinder)
1987-1990 Fort Wainwright - 6thID (where we frequently guarded pipelines in friggid assed conditions.) Ahhh the good ol days in Benning when they could still call us names and scream at us. They had just built Sand Hill area and they would make us run through there to see how nice and cozy the new barracks were. They have since closed our "hell hole" Harmony Church that were REAL barracks and would burn to the ground in 6 minutes if torched so if the enemy ever captured them they were useless. But forever I will remember the smell of the pines at 4am on our Battalion runs!! And never will I live without frost bitten hands and toes from them neverending nights ---damn pipelines!!

That is why it was changed from the "Military" service to the "National" service.

I was in the Army during Desert Storm 95B (Military Police) After leaving the military. I became a police officer in Bowie Texas for 5 years.
