State of the Turbine Address (And other thoughts)

How's this, Ducttape?

oh! you mean turbine is doing good? well why didn't you say so!

I do <3 turbine; out of all the non 'official' released maps (badwater, turbine, pipeline, hoodoo, etc...) turbine is bestest.

I would love to play on Turbine. Its a great map, however. My ping is 180 and I can't play on it. Is there anyway I can lower my ping?

Turbine is currently located in Southern California, so the farther you are from there the more likely high pings will be your friend. I usually run 120 pings, and I live in Dallas.

You might want to complain to your ISP; they might have a stupid route over the internet (for example, I live 60 miles from Dallas, but instead of going straight there, they go south 300 miles, then turn about and go north 360; bad routing), and they might be able to do something.

Also, if you are on DSL, you might want to see if you can get a slightly "faster" DSL. This will only have a little impact, but the more "room" your packets have to travel in, the less likely other packets will interfere with your gaming stream. That, and it's been my experience that the bigger DSL pipes seem to get a bit of "priority" to smaller pipes.

Haha that sucks for me. I live in Rhode Island on the Northestern Coast. Southern California is about as far away as it gets from me. But I'll try to make my DSL faster somehow. Just gotta figure out how.

I live in the neighboring state to the east and my ping is still in the 60s, talk about bad routing =)

I love playing on furnace, i usually seed it when i'm gone and play it when i'm there. Alongs with Sykes, wats, and a few other awesome people.
