Itunes & AVG= Problems!

Hello eGO,

Just wanted to throw out a FYI to anyone using AVG and itunes. I use AVG free and just tried to use my itunes to buy more music, i have a wee bit of an addiction. You're avg will throw up a threat warning. Don't do anything! There is a problem with AVG and it is not playing nicley with Itunes. It just happened today and i'm sure AVG is working on it. Don't uninstall Itunes to try and fix the problem cause it won't work, trust ne I know. So guess who has to put all his cds back on his computer, thats right it's me.

I suggest not using avg. It's great but could be stupid most of the times. As long as you don't download anything silly if you know what I mean, there's no need for an anti virus. Just use firefox with ABP (ad-block plus) and WOT (web of trust)

Click on the AVG icon, go to the resident shield, click manage exceptions, and add the c:\program files\itunes to it and also c:\program files\ipod

it should be good

Well, I haven't gotten a virus since I uninstalled AVG ironically. Seriously, there seems to be no way you can get a virus without downloading something. And if for any reason you have one, just reinstall windows... no biggie. If you're really paranoid about getting one then yes, use AVG. It's somewhat great.

Not trying to knock what you do, it just seems unethical to not run one. I think you should be protected even though you watch what you do on your computer. Im not afraid of viruses, i just think a layer of protection is in order no matter what. Just because your a cop and you think you wont get shot, doesnt mean you wont get shot, you know what i mean?

Lol i freaked when that pop up came up and I was like remove! Heal! aahhhhhhh click lol

But now i did the thing Autoaim said, thank you for that and I am going to reinstall itunes to fix anything it did haha
 
Yeah the only bad thing about the quick fix is i thuink you have to undo it once AVG fixes the problem. I'll just dop without until then. Hopefully it won't take to long.
 
Ah thanks Allster, well i gues my jobs done moving on to the other thred now i suppose.
