using different fonts is also not your work, and your point is ... ? Why would we re-create things that already exist ?

Yes, but there's a difference. Signatures are mainly exercises. They take a short amount of time, and are use to build upon your own use of color, style, and knowledge of art. If you use brushes, you only hurt yourself, whereas when you use photos, you're using resources to help your already sharp skills. There's a difference between a signature and a photomanip, one which is meant to be your display of technical skill and compositional technique, and the other which is a use of various photos manipulated to your own means, which eventually makes a very unique and different piece.


Don't be insulted because I said not to use brushes. Brushes are fine and dandy as a tool to build upon skills in the beginning, but Koke is ready to stop using them, and push forward to using his own techniques and his own work. When an artist reaches that point, he no longer has to say he used someone's work other than his own, but instead can say that what he makes is his own creation.

Needless to say I've gotten over the use of brushes as well. The only ones I actually use a splatter brushes for clipping masks these days.

However, I do believe a signature can be considered a higher level work of art if the right amount of work is put into it, but you only do so much with a small canvas.

Thanks for Responses, the last one i figured you guys would say its ripped and stuff seeing how i tried recreating it lol, otherwise Thanks for the Feedback and I will be making more

PS: I think brushing on your sigs if you do it right it can give them a nice effect... now if you do a whole background out of brushes... nope... I also pretty much only do Splatters for clipping mask but, i use fractals too to make some effects.

I use GIMP, so I make my own splatter brushes. You can do the same with a low opacity white soft brush in PS set to scatter and to jitter on the size, on the mask, then you use the value curves slider to raise the contrast to your liking.

yeah Sir Ive done that with Splatter brushes but they aren't as high quality as the ones that i got... yeah the ones i got are basic but they also have all sorts of splatters not just round ones, but totally pretty ez to make
