IMO its just another Y2K scare
Yeah well the Mayans are wrong.
now look there is a lot of talk about the world going under in 2012 and the way i see it, its only a scream of attention of nerds who dont have any life any girlfriend or any job, i think the whole thing is fake, so just relax cause nothing bad is gonna happen in 2012

I'm gonna say what happens in gaming:
- They will release Left 4 Dead 5
- Call of Duty 48
- Mario in the Paralympics (Not trying to make fun of the paralympics)
May add more later.
Fixed. Eventually they will start making one every month, instead of map packs. Still, every console gamer will buy it.

Ok... this has gotten slightly out of hand. I understand the jokes and speculations, however this matter requires understanding and deep thought.
As a History Major I took it upon myself to research and study this "2012 scare" for an assignment a while back. And this is what I discovered.
The "Long Count" is the title of this Calendar. It was speculated to have a 260 / 356 (the solar cycle) day periods. The reasons or dates that the Mayans had is STILL unknown to this day.
Anyways im going to cut to the chase. The calendars had a cycle to them. And the cycle was a 52 year interval. Known as the Calendar Round, the 52nd year was known to be a year of pain, misery, and regret. This 2012, it is believed, will be the 52nd year of this Calendar Round... which if you think of it makes sense because it is a logical reason and way to stop making more to it.
Now on the 52nd year they would offer human and animal sacrifices... also dance naked in the sun. So we are judging the end of the world off of some people that killed each other and danced naked in the sun out of fear of their gods.... rrrrrrriiiiigghhhhtttt.
