i was looking at my laptop's specs and was wondering what this meant

Graphics
? Mobile Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M with 128MB-1342MB
dynamically allocated shared graphics memory

It means you do not have dedicated video RAM. Most of the high-end gaming machines will have a video card that includes dedicated video ram. Shared or dynamically allocated video ram is usually slower, and does not perform in graphically intensive games as well as those that have dedicated video ram. This is a hardware function. The only way to change it is to physically change hardware.

Here is a link for more info specifically pertaining to dynamic graphics memory:

thanks! so does that mean there is away to allocate more memory to run my games smoother since i have a total of 1342? oh and another quick question...will allowing more virtual memory increase game fps?

No, unfortunately it just means if it needs it, it will grab what RAM your system is sparring.

You need dedicated memory such as built on to the graphics card for more FPS, integrated cards such as yours perform poorly due to no dedicated ram, low pixel pipelines, low stream processors that allow low data bandwidth.

Basically integrated is meant for office work, not games.

Heres how your graphics chipset scores with other integrated and dedicated notebook cards:

On that list your card ranks 131.

i mean it plays INS with a good 30-40 FPS when the server isnt full. it plays fine when im the only one online. i just hate the FPS drops.

Because when your online your card dosn't have to render anything except what your doing. When you have 20+ people on the same server your card is going to be rendering on whatever their doing aswell.

You aren't going to get above that without a new video card, one the rules of gaming is to never used a integrated card.. its just bad.

But considering you have a laptop, you can't really get a new one.

On the brightside, you could get a 400 dollar gaming desktop that will be amazingly better than your laptop. That integrated graphics chip is a major fail.

If you would like some hardware suggestions feel free to let us know your price range.

i would get a new computer but i would like a new gaming laptop. i saw one ($1000 HP), i would have got it instead but my parents had already got this one for my graduation gift (they got me one to take to school, etc). but im use to the FPS drop now, ive learned to stay away from those places and just stay back and snipe, my laptop plays INS and LOTRO, maybe not maxed and smooth but its better that my desktop which struggles with LOTRO for some reason and not INS.

Hey dude ,
If you are gaming at all on that laptop, then you are ahead of the game.
Integrated graphics have come a very very long way in the last 5-6 years or so.

As far as a "gaming" laptop - you will have trouble finding one for less than a grand.
I have a Lenovo T500 with the ATI card (i forget which one) and it's better than my desktop at home. But you don't even want to know what that cost... and it's not even a "gaming" laptop.
