Alrighty, I'm posting this 'cause I'm all nerved up and can't sleep.

I'm most likely interviewing tomorrow for a job with a salary approx. 6 times my last. We all get jitters before interviews, but what do you do to prepare for the interview?

I assuming you've already prepared for your interview. So now just do something to take your mind off it. Relax and get a good nights sleep so that your are well rested for tomorrow.

Sleep? No, stay up all night and play video games, that's what I do before interviews!

What I did was did a little search online to see how I would handle the "difficult" questions. Make sure you know about the company. I think I read somewhere that a person was doing really good on his/her interview until he/she was asked what IBM stood for. D:

I just make sure I look nice, research the company i'm interviewing with, and make sure to do whatever to be in a good mood. I don't really get nervous or awkward ever so I don't worry about that stuff. I usually do very well... if I could only get an interview now...

Lol, thats the last question they ask. Don't think it actually affects the outcome of you getting the job. Not many people actually know that it means International Business Machines.

What do you do for a living if I may ask?

Was generic network admin. Interviewing for a job designing, and implementing SCADA control systems.

In other words I would design the server infrastructure and screens the operators use at power plants, dams, industrial facilities, etc.

Company I'm applying at bids against the likes of GE for their jobs. In fact, they are currently revamping all the controls at the Hoover dam and the three others downstream.

There is "something else" that works quite well.

As for the actual interview. As said before make sure you know the company well, do your research(especially remember specific dates-they like that). Stay cool, interviewers can usually tell when you get a little tense or what not. I am a person who tends to get a little nervous from time to time, but it all comes down to the fact that you just gotta go in there and kick butt. Don't ramble on and on, keep your sentences short and to the point. All ways answer the question, if you try to avoid it they will know.

Anyways, interview got pushed back, but evidently I would be the in house codemonkey(rewrite PLC configuration utility with MODBUS+ support, write MODBUS+ driver).
