New L4D DLC Announced

"Crash Course will support single-player, multiplayer, and co-op gameplay, but what's particularly intriguing about it is that it's designed to provide a streamlined Versus mode experience in 30 minutes. Versus mode pits one team of players as the humans while an opposing team plays as the special boss zombies in the game. The humans try to get through the level safely while the zombies try to stop them, and then the teams switch sides and play through the level again."

I don't get it.

There's nothing new in that paragraph?

Well, cupcake, they could have done it like they did with the lighthouse level in the survival pack and make it only support one gameplay. This will be compatible with all of them. Also, the standard Versus mode takes much longer than 30 minutes, since 1 campaign is usually an hour and in versus you have to run through 2 of them. I am interested to see how they work this into a "streamlined" version.

Or they could make an entire story based off of The Last Stand instead of just one survival level.

Wow, MicroSoft is making the 360 players pay for this pack? Jeesus, I'm glad I'm not one of those people who owns a 2001 computer or someone who has the misguidance to think that FPS games are better on the consoles.

Still looking forward to this though, been wanting a new campaign for awhile..

>: O stop pretending your opinions are fact!

EDIT:Actually, I do wish I had L4D on the computer(mods + maps)...and I want L4D 2 on the computer when it comes out, but noo...my older brother wants to play it too, and we're only getting one copy...and he is the farthest thing from a PC gamer. PC FPSes are only better on the computer because of the community, I believe. Of course, the community is everything. The community is the source of everything original.

On a side note, I can't wait for this.

The last stand DOES have a story, its a far more realistic one than all the others:
They made it to a lighthouse and attempted to hail a boat for rescue, the boat never comes
(possibly because everyones dead, or their not willing to risk it) either way, its just a more grim look at a zombie apocolypse, were our heros dont get rescued, they perish in an epic final fire fight.

Would be nice if they described this new level a little (setting wise that is)

PC gaming >>>>>>>>>>>> Console gaming.
Fact.

Exact same thing I was thinking Peter. Valve never broke their promise for future content for L4D1. Stupid boycotters

PC gaming >>>>>>>>>>>> Console gaming.
Fact.

When there's an option? Usually. There's still exclusives and games that come out on the consoles way before PC. And exclusives are usually good, which makes me want to start smacking my head against the 360, because that means no mods or free dlc. EVER.
And still, console controls > PC controls, I believe, although they don't allow as many actions as the PC. I can't imagine how odd prototype would be on the computer...yet, the people who play it know what they're doing. Plus, I know you can just plug in a wired controller to a PC and get a program to map buttons, but what's the point? The computer usually senses the mouse being mapped to a thumbstick as incredibly slow.
So I agree that PC gaming > Console gaming(usually), but not that it's a fact.

ANYWAY

I agree with peter, this SHOULD shut up the boycotters for awhile. How they were saying that "Valve didn't keep their promise about more DLC updates"(now they did) "Valve said we would get constant updates"(they didn't)
BUT I hate that they're making us pay for this one on the 360.

Your joking right? Doing more actions on a controller compared to a keyboard with a million other keys. Tryin playing a MMO on a controller and tell me how that works. Prototype also plays very very well on the PC, can move and do everything that a controller does perfectly and dosen't feel "slow" and has more option for customization. The exclusives I can wait for, because once they come out for the PC their will be a million mods that will make it ten times better anyway plus a ton of other things (maps, etc.) to extend the lifespan. I don't like playing on a console where the graphics are limited and capped at usually below 60 FPS. It's like playing on a old pc with fpx_max 40. Dosen't seem fluid to me. So why do that when I can max the graphics way past a console and play at 100+ fps?

I can understand why people buy consoles, dont have the money to buy a good PC, don't know how to work a PC. Get suckered into buying a dell and can't game on it etc. But if you do have the option I don't know why you would buy a console, unless it has some awesome exclusive for it that won't ever come to PCs. Console gamers do get screwed on the dlc though, everyone should get it for free.. but they are so accustomed to doing it.

Anyways, might actually reinstall l4d now :3. /excited
