Hello,

Me and my friend can't connect to the same server when we are playing on the same internet. Like when I am playing and he connects, it will kick me out and disconnect me and I won't be able to play. It does this on every server we play, no matter what game it is.

Is there a fix for this? When I get disconnected because of this the server won't show up on my favorites anymore and i won't be able to connect to it for like an hour or 2.

Anyone else have this problem and/or know a fix for this?

If both of you are using the same CD-Key, then both of you cant play at the same time. Atleast most games this is the case.

Oh Frap. This happens to me and my brother since we live in the same house. All we do is have one person restart there game and see if they can connect. If it doesn't work the other person restarts and it usually works from there. Try it ^_^

No We are not using the same account
No we do not have the same cd key

And we both restart and every once in a while it will work but not often.

If you could post more info like what type of router and modem you are using. How it configured etc. What is the message you get when kicked. I am using a d-link router and my son and I have no problems. I had no problems with my linksys either. If your using a switch instead of a router that's most likely in my mind the problem but I'm no expert.

Is it always the same servers you get booted from?

Depending what MODs the server has, it may be seeing duplicate connecting IPs from your side and disconnecting the other.

This also happens to me and my bro. Although it doesn't happen as much anymore, what we do is have one of us join first. The other one would wait about 5-10 minutes then join.

Could be a port issue on the router. Not sure if this would work but you could DMZ one pc and then do a port forward on the other. Or just do DMZ on one pc and see how it works. Bad side about DMZ is that your pc will be exposed to the internet. You're not doing ICS are you?

+ / - clientport 27015

on one account

on the other would be 27016

for steam games that is.

Some servers have it where it's considered ghosting if you have the same IP address when connecting to a server with multiple people/accounts. Stops cheating. Dunno if this is the issue though. Sounds more like a router/network issue if it won't let you in at all.
