For the past couple of days for some reason any online game i play has this lag. I have had this same kind of lag before but this time i dont know what the problem is. Last time the problem was itunes, howeever this time i have no idea what it is. This is how the lag works (it even lags just when talking to someone in steam/vent chat) it basically is just like the internet completely goes out for 1-3 seconds, and after the lag is done i usually teleport (when playing a game). Any advice?

boomsta, do you have any reasoning as to why iTunes would make you lag?
I can understand that iTunes may be using resources that you need for gaming and may cause performance lag, but not internet related lag.

You can try unplugging your modem and router if you have one, wait about a minute, plug JUST your modem in, wait for all the lights to come up, Then plug your router in. If that doesnt work, try disabling your firewalls. Im just naming things off the top of my head. Lets see, also if your on wireless on vista. Click start>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Manage Wireless Networks. Then click on the connection your using, and above that, you should see remove with a - sign. remove the network. restart your computer, then add the network back by just connecting to it. Thats all the basic things i know off the top of my head. hope you get it fixed!
