Is adding more servers making all of our servers less filled?

I think it is. I'm not just saying that there are more servers meaning less in all, but now a lot of our servers are empty, more so than when we had less servers. What I think is the problem is that before, with less servers, eGO members could mostly fill our servers in order to entice pubs with high player numbers. Now, we don't have enough seeders to get all of our servers going, so not as many pubs are joining. I think that this is a problem that needs to be fixed.

The way I see it, there are 2 options. We can either A: Get rid of some of our servers (something that I do not want to do), or B: Have more people volunteer to seed the empty servers.

If we were going with option B, then we'd need to have a lot of people seed our servers until we get around 20 people in it. Then, the group of seeders would move to the next and do the same, and so on and so forth. And let me clarify this: active seeding as opposed to AFK spectating seeding would work so much better, that way the pubs stay and paly the game once they see that actual people are there.

Now, I am voulunteering myself to help with the seeding of the servers, but I can't do it alone. Would anyone like to help me?:confused1:

Well, first, sure, I'm always willing to help, but:

As we (a very loose "we") get more servers, the gaming community on TF2 and the people finding and playing on eGO's servers also increase. There are times that all our servers are full, there are times when no servers are full. But it's my opinion that we should just keep things the way they are, but really promote word-of-mouth, and make sure everybody knows about the awesomeness of eGO.

My 2 cents :)

You make a good point, but wouldn't a better way than word of mouth be for people to find the servers on the internet search? The internet button shows some of the top servers, and if we seed and get ours up there, than more people will be exposed to our servers, and then tell their friends, so it kind of does both.

+1 id also be willing to volunteer for a "seeding group" but like squircle said as we get more servers we get a bigger base of players to keep our servers full (most of the time)

well some of our server are already high ranked such as our Turbine server as well as our 2fort IR

Check again, 2Fort IR has been falling behind, I think due to this issue.

I think there will be a dip, then soon we will start to see a steady increase of players. Think about it. Our current number of people who play on the servers hasn't changed, but over time, because there are more servers, we will naturally get more players. I honestly don't think it's something to worry about. We need all our own eGO members to play/seed whenever they can though so we can haev those good full servers. ;)

We could argue about why our servers drop or go up in rank to absolutely no end, but it wouldn't be close to productive. Servers will go up, servers will go down. What matters is keeping our servers as close to the top as possible.

Now, a NEW IDEA! from me.
Wouldn't it be great to have people from a full server (READ: huge exposure) learn all about all the OTHER eGO servers we have? Well, if there was a way to cross-advertise (using a very loose definition of advertise) our other servers on the existing servers, we may get more people learning about, and in our other servers.

EXAMPLE:

There is a player "square" and "circle" (now you know where squircle comes from). Square decides to play on Blackmesa. Then, circle (an eGO member) comes on and says something (not exactly like) "Anybody want to help fill gravelpit?" or "If you liked this, try turbine 127.0.0.1:27015" or "Looking for a fun game? Join toyfort at ip:27015". These are just some ideas, but I think it may work.

ALSO,
I know that the popup page upon joining the servers is a great ad space, but how about keeping the ad in the corner (or something), but having a list of eGO servers and their current population, with some encouraging script underneath. That's, again, just an idea.

So, feel free to destroy my ideas and reject them, call me a dreamer, call me a communistic cross-promoter, whatever. But think about it, mull it over, and there are plenty more ideas where that came from ;)

I like the cross-advertising idea! Let those people know that if they enjoyed one of the servers they'll also like the other servers available

I approve of this idea.

More cross-advertising would be helpful I think too. Good Idea! Of course we're always trying to point people to our website which has all the servers' info. But, I think more mention of the other servers is a great idea.
