Is alienware the best or not

I agree with the build your own. I built my current PC in early 2006, it is still going great. I think I put about $1200 in it, AMD 4800+, 2GB RAM, Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB. It gets blown away by any system today, but still far from obsolete. I helped my dad build PC's as early as 1990, and the systems today are way cheaper in comparison, and the technology has slown down quite a bit. Used to be a 3 year old PC was junk, but that is what I am running on.

Well its obvious isn't it?

Come on now guys, not everyone knows the in's and out's of building a computer. Especially building one correctly and making sure their correctly grounded, details like that.

For the OP's question, Alienware does make good gaming pc's. Like others have said, it is overpriced because they are building it for you and your using their "Brand". This can be beneficial for people who aren't good with computers because they do provide technical support geared towards their gaming hardware.

However if people are willing to learn, the Steam forums Hardware discussion thread is the best place to go to. The people over there have very good detailed guides on building your own PC gaming machine.

Remember folks, not everyone knows how to build their own PC.

Alienware is a $3000 PC with $1600 parts. Dell has corrupted it.

If you want a good PC go to Newegg and review their Pre-Built computers. They are cheap and non-hassle.

all you pay for is the name...and the case thats it. the hardware you can build urself for ALOT cheaper

alienware is the best for laptops only but u can always make a desktop ur self that is better than alienware and way much cheaper

Qft

I'd buy the parts and get someone to build it for me ;)

It's really not that hard to learn how to build one. If you can operate a screwdriver, and plug cords in, you can build one. I don't think anyone here is stupid, do some research and learn how, you will save yourself thousands.

On a side note, has anyone seen the price of ammo lately? I bought a box of .40 the other day and it was like $22 with tax.

whatever you do dont go HP their service is horrible. Acer is the best imo for notebooks

Build it yourself, Alienware's are what PC users have instead of Mac's if you know what I mean.

If you do not know how to build a computer yourself, some of your local computer shops will put system together for a small fee. One such shop charges 30-50 dollars in my area to do this.
so you can always check to see what local shops in your area might charge.

if you got the cash, its a nice PC, but they have better laptops cause for like 1/2 of the price for an Alienware PC, you could get much better..you pay just a lot for the looks and the name, and I speak with experience

No, it's not the best. I have one and after 4 years, the hardware in it could barely play the new games that were coming out. So, save yourself a lot of money by just building a custom PC and upgrading it slowly.

Yes, in my opinion Alienware computers are good but the best? Honestly, you could build a custom computer by ordering the parts from newegg and things like for half the price of an alienware computer and it would probably be better.

The moment I read the title I already knew most of the people would say it's overpriced and cheaper built yourself. But what can I say, what mostly everyone else has said is true.
