As i promised, i would put up an intermediate Spy guide. My first guide Is pretty important to ready if you just got into spy.
First Guide Link:http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=95118

In the intermediate technique guide, i will cover on how to escape, Counter, and Fool enemies, and also talk about applying techniques to the game and picking targets carefully.

Escaping:
One of the most important things a spy must learn is how to escape and hide after attacking/sapping/shooting. To perform a successful escape, you must fool the enemy into going into a incorrect area to spycheck. One of the best ways to perform this is to run around a corner uncloaked, hide around the corner and FULLY cloak, and run out and dodge the spychecker, or go a different route. (DO NOT TRY AND DODGE PYRO'S, YOU WILL BE OWNED!) To escape after stabbing someone In the open, do not run in a straight line or the same route. Try and go to the Most unpredictable spot near you. You will almost never escape trying to stab 5 people in a row. You will either get blow to pieces trying to stab the first person, or get killed after stabbing the first person. Dont stab someone that is surrounded by pyro's.. i think you know what will happen after you do. Try and pick off lone targets wandering around and/or targets traveling by foot to the battlefield. This ensures that you wont get blown to bits after you stab someone, Concluding into a successful escape.

Countering:
Countering can be the most deadly thing a spy can learn if mastered properly. A spy that can counter well can correct his/her mistakes easily. A successful counter is when discovered, the spy can take down a class when under a spycheck/or kill. Although the techniques to counter can be very frustrating/hard, they can make all the difference in the player's score.
Starstab:
The hardest, unpredictable technique of them all. An enemy coming at you up a stairset will have no clue whats going on until it's over. A stairstab is when an enemy is running up a set of stairs and you jump over his/her head and stab them in the back. This technique is VERY difficult to pull of but is one of the most successful. To pull this off, you must luer an enemy into coming up a set of stairs, when completed, you will leap over their head and quicly turn your mouse around to face their back and stab. This technique is successful against all classes, though it might be more difficult against a heavy.

Hide n' surprise:
The hide n' surprise is a fun, Not too hard technique to counter an enemy.
The hide n' surprise is when you run into an area uncloaked, then cloak around the corner and go to the opposite side you were, and when the enemy comes around the corner you come from behind them and give them a nice surprise. This is one of the best techniques against all classes because they cannot counter, predict where you are going.

Picking targets:

Picking targets is a key item to living, and success. Picking a target means that you will go after a key target that is doing more damage to your team than others. Ex: an engy has a gun stationed right around a corner and is ripping your team to bits. That is a KEY target to success.

Now we will have a little quiz on which targets to pick:
An AFK heavy, or a sniper that is headshotting everyone.

An engineer with a level 3 sentry, or an engineer that is building one up.

A medic with a 50% uber or a medic with a 23% kritz.

A Kritz soldier, or the medic that is Kritzing him.

Applying techniques to the game:

To apply all these techniques you must set up situations when you will use these techniques. Ex: to practice Killing lone targets, sap their teleporters, making them walk to the battlefield.
Or: shoot someone with a revolver from a building to make them come up the stairs for a stairstab

That will conclude my Intermediate spy guide, soon coming expert spy guide.

IF YOU NEED ANY HELP WITH SPY JUST MESSAGE ME ON STEAM, I WILL HELP YOU OUT.

1. Sniper :P That's easy.

2. This is depending on where the sentries are located. Obvious if they are next to each other, you go for the level 3 sentry, stab and sap and then get out of there. But if they are far apart, going for the building engineer isn't a bad idea. Especially if he is by his lonesome.

3. A medic with 50% uber. Obvious decision.

4. The Medic. If the soldier dies, the Medic can just kritz another person nearby. But if the Medic dies, bye bye goes the 100% crits. Of course... that soldier is gonna be mad :)

Another ok guide, but as ive always said one of the most important things a spy needs to learn is Positioning. You should post shortcuts to all maps so that newer spies can learn them.

Things all spies need to learn in my opinion: (in no particular order.)

1. Postioning (This allows you to flank or escape from your opponant using map shortcuts. Using these shortcuts allows you to kill key targets or run from opponants much faster)
2. Disguises (know what disguise goes where on the battle field)
3. Hiding Spots (Know where all the med packs are on every map...good hiding spots are on top of a box against the wall or a guard rail anywhere but in plain sight)
4. Knowing when to stay and attack or run (If you see flames comming out of a corridor, run...dont wait to see if its your teammates flame just run, if you fail stab run.)
5. Chain kills (learn which to kill first and if you fail stab dont push the stab you will die, just run and hide.)
6. Learn all types of stabs (advanced spy techs...stalking, 180 stabs, drop stabs, stair stabs...ect)

Expect to fail for the first couple 100 hrs, most good spies learn from thier failures. Just shrug it off and try try again...this is a class that takes alot of patients to master, so dont give up.

Positioning is all-important and part of that is watching your own back. you can get yourself into the best place possible, de-cloak and focus too much on your target, suddenly finding yourself lit up a nice shade of red-coloured fire. Getting in behind the enemy is worthless if you blow your cover by acting like a spy and not like the opposition.

Nice guide, look forward to the expert one!

There is a lot more that could be added to this guide, with shortcuts in the maps etc..
