I wanna know if we allow here in eGO the use of scripts like the pistolscript and can somebody guide me to get it :)?

The script you're searching for is:
// AutoPistol
// ==========
alias +apistol "alias repeat_function +repeat; +repeat" // While held down, starts the repeater function and sets it to repeat.
alias -apistol "alias repeat_function stoprepeating" // When released, repeat_function is disabled through the stoprepeating alias.
alias repeat_function "+repeat" // So long as this alias holds, +attacks and waits will continue to fire.
alias +repeat "+attack; wait 2; -repeat" // Repeater function attacks, waits, goes to -repeat.
alias -repeat "-attack; wait 2; repeat_function" // Stops attack, waits, fires another repeat_function.
alias stoprepeating ""
I suggest, however, that you forget about it. Soon, in one of the upcoming patches, it will not work anymore since Valve will change the firing speed of the pistol, finally getting rid of this script.

is that the tf2 beta everybody is talking about?
Yes, indeed.
  • [confirmed] Pistol scripts will apparently no longer work. The pistol fires every 0.175 seconds at its maximum rate as opposed to .1 seconds
  • [confirmed] Pistol now fires at the rate of 1 shot per 0.175 seconds while holding down attack button (used to be 0.25 seconds)
Now, what does that mean? Obviously you will no longer be able to use the script. However, this also means that you don't have to press your attack button as fast as possible. Holding it down is as fast as it's going to get. No one is going to fire their pistol faster than you because they have a faster trigger finger. ;)

some of the speculations about the tf2 beta is also pretty lame like
"we have removed badwater and added it as the last stage of goldrush, nobody was playing badwater anyway" and something like they added 4 more levels to dustbowl, i mean cmon...

Could someone post a link to this patch, I really wanna know what else is on it.

This is very interesting! I haven't even heard of this "TF2 Beta" before since now. I agree with WaterSnake, if anyone knows more about this please post a link to the thread! ;)

Looks nice, but the engi's wrech buliding buildings faster but not upgrading? Sounds flawed, unless it is a second wrench

Boy did this thread change subjects fast...
It would be nice to note that we really don't know when/if they will implement these suspected changes. Lets just hope it's soon.

Watch and wait folks - who knows what'll happen. Beta is Beta - they try all kinds of crazy things, most of which will never make it to the real game. But as to the original question, I think Calle is right about not bothering with the script. More than likely that part of the beta is true, so why get used to the cheap script - just practice your clickity clickity in game or on some Mario Party. ;)

Back in the day when CS first introduced the dual Berettas, it was discovered that they would pretty much fire as fast as you could press the trigger. Me and a buddy came up with two different solutions to get rapid fire out of them.

My friend used right-click as his secondary fire. Since there was no secondary fire for the Berettas, he simply used a script that would remap his right-click to +fire when he switched to his pistols. Then he would feather his left and right mouse buttons like you would a dual trigger set up on a paint gun. It would remap right-click to secondary fire when he switched back to his main weapon.

Since I use right-click for jumping (yeah, I'm weird) his method didn't work for me. Instead I came up with a different solution. When I pressed Mouse 3, it would switch to my Berettas and rebind my mouse wheel up and down to +fire. I had to press Mouse 3 again to switch back to normal weapon switching.

My solution would actually fire faster than his, but it required me to press an extra button. His solution was more automated, but he couldn't fire as fast. The other trade off was that he could sustain his for the entire clip amount, but with my solution it was more of short bursts as I rolled the wheel one way and then rolled it back the other way.

In the end, we both concluded that the dual Berettas were pretty useless anyway, and just stuck with our pistols of choice. In the end, accuracy mattered more than being able to spit out a barrage of bullets.

/old fart discussion

Yeah, this beta apparently is just getting tested by the competetive players. So we'll see how that goes..
