Falcon!

Think of the falcon as a condiment for your food. Sure we don't need ketchup and salt on our french fries but wouldn't you love it?

Novint ran out of black ketchup. I refuse to buy a white one.

Putting things In perspective:

Decent Gaming Computer, and accessories $1000
Novint falcon, and some bundled games: $100

Fries: $2
Ketchup: Free (Although their cost to the food provider means you still pay for them, so about 25 cents)

Novint Ratio: 10-1
Fries ratio: 8-1

So... the Novint falcon is actually and under priced condiment :D

we'll have another special offer when we open up international sales (with a different code from ego). The price will be a little more, but the software (and the savings) will be much more, so it will be a great deal too, for you international customers. thx, tomnovint

Awesome to hear can't wait to get my hands on one :D:D:D

Just got mine on Wednesday. It's decent, but I'm not sure if I will ever be as accurate as I am with a mouse. Of course I'm just used to the mouse after playing FPS for 10 years and this Falcon is only a few days old. I admit I'm biased.

What I'd really like to see if a new variation of the Duck Hunt gun for Nintendo. I mean the technology is older than most of the people on this forum, and Wii already utilizes sensors in the same manner. I think it would be a much better experience to be looking down the gun at the screen and shooting, and it would be much easier to pick up and learn. Now Nintendo probably has this idea patented (NES, Wii, both Nintendo) so it may be more difficult than it's worth, but it's an idea.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Falcon (yes it's white) and I won't be returning mine. Very nice product Tom.

Yea, I can't step away from my mouse when it comes to FPS games. I've tried many times with PS3 and XBOX but it just isn't the same....my mouse is my soul mate

Don't tell my fianc?e.

I have a question... for the Orange Box, do you get a retail (boxed) copy of the game, or do you get a CD Key/Download link for it? Because I haven't gotten on yet <.< Although I did get my Penumbra download link.

Hey BFM, give it a little more time, and you'll find your groove. I've found that the better the player, often the longer it takes to get used to the Falcon, but the more improvement they ultimately get over the mouse. I'd give it about 20 hours to get to where you feel as comfortable as the mouse (some people it's more), and then you can tweak and get even better as you play from then on.

One bit of advice. Leave the control settings at the defaults until you have 10 hours under your belt. I've had several good players try and constantly tweak their Falcon settings and get frustrated. Then they took my advice (after nearly giving up), and got used to the new controls, and then said they can't live without their Falcon now. After you have 10 hours under your belt at the default settings, then you can tweak to get more efficient.

thx, tomnovint

nice. do you know what parts of the falcon it covers?

I'm expecting my falcon on Monday. Thanks Tom.

It covers the white panels on the right and left sides, and the back panel. I just got an Orange one (in honor of the Orange Box) and a Camo one in the mail today. I'll post pics on our blog shortly. thx, tomnovint

Think of it as a little affair with the Falcon then :). It is just like the mouse, but better :)

really, though, the Falcon is very similar to mouse controls. Many PC gamers don't like the console type of control, but very few PC gamers don't like the Falcon controls when they try it.

You'll get a download key from [email protected]. check your spam folder first, and if it's not there, email them and they can get it to you.

Hey Tom do you know when you will be able to get the NHL skins working!? I'm a fan of the Colorado Avalanche and it would be cool to get a skin!

hmmm... I just tried it and didn't work for me either. I think it is a licensing issue - I'd recommend you contact skinit directly and see what they say.

thx, tomnovint
