Deja is trading one form of negative attention for another. Spies are almost pure negative attention. Your own team will never admit you're helping, and the other team will constantly hate you.

that might be true, but I'm sure he has alot of fun playing spy and causing heart ache and rage logs while doing it.

Earlier on blackmesa there were 10 total on the other team, 4-5 of them were spies trying to kill galk =/

It's tf2...this game isn't meant to be played for stats. Someone with mediocre skill can pull off something that will kill you no matter what, CSS is 100% skill based and where KDR really matters.

Tf2 is for fun.

yea that is very true cut, and alot of ppl dont even care if ur rank one, its just a thing to brag about, hey guys look i play so much im the best player on eGO, i just think that why play the game if your not going to have fun, and if sitting back trying not to die and being super cautious is your way of having fun the do it but, holding a rank isnt very much fun to alot of ppl, do it to have fun not to make ppl think you are the BEST PLAYER EVER

I don't like when people brag about their HLX rank, it truely isn't a show of skill. There is so many ways in Tf2 to avoid dieing yet keep gaining points. I can go on awesome streaks a spy, but i'll always die and most likely lose 25+ pts per person and only get 5-6 in return. Only way I can go up is if I play cheap and that's not fun. You shouldn't brag about the rank, HLX favors people that do anything in their power not to die or to heal someone getting a ton of kills/ and also based on how much you play.

also..... being high ranked HLX doesn't mean you're a good player....

i'm not implying that you, or anyone is a bad player, but its a system built that is exploitable. If all you care about is being #1, then you can easily farm/camp/etc for points. and thus be ~#1~. but that still doesn't mean you're good.

Only partially true. The skills required for CSS and TF2 are similar, but are of differing amounts. If your skill set is primarily in the physical/dexterous category, you will be a better CSS player. If your skill set is more of the mental/quick thinking category, you will do better in TF2.

e.g.

If someone is godly good at positioning an aiming reticule over a digitized head and pressing a mouse button plays CSS, they will be able to get many kills without developing anything more for the game.

Place that same person in TF2 and they will get a few kills, but will ultimately be repeatedly defeated by other players.

Now let us place a person who is a brilliant strategist inside CSS. They will be able to get very few kills due to the prevalence of twitch gamers that game draws.

Place that person in TF2 where strategic options are increased and they will do better.


The two games seem similar and require similar skill sets, but the ratio those skill sets are used differ greatly. Someone who can move and shoot well can be easily defeated by someone who has planned ahead and is ready for those types of players. Someone who has planned ahead ready for everything can be defeated by something brand new they could never plan for.

More variety in weapon types, abilities, environment, win conditions, and hazards allows for much more complex strategies.

Yeah, i would probably end up in the hospital again because of migraines if I played enough to have first place. Too many aggravating things happen, like scouts. But this is made all better by some happy person coming on, usually an admin.

That's right, enough's enough. No more playing TF2 to try to hold first place. If you want it, come and get it.

The reason I'm doing this is actually quite many...:

1) It's bringing negative attention my way that I do not want.
2) It's a lot of work (and time for that matter) to hold first place.
3) By being in first, I can't play spy and terrorize the servers like I normally do.

So, with that said, happy hunting folks.

Not sure what you're talking about here. Not my fault whenever I go heavy that I'm automatically healed by 3 people.. I don't really ask for it. Also, I do think I'm fairly decent at this game, but I don't brag about it...

You guys are getting this thread completely wrong. The reason why I even posted it was to just let everyone know that I'm not going to try keeping that #1 spot. It's a hassle, and quite frankly, stupid to even play for rank. Lesson learned already, so have a good one.
