Hey

Got quite some problem here.. I found myself unable to play multiplayer cod4..

When I try to connect to eGO favorited server, I get connection timed out.
when I click refresh server list the client goes refreshing etc 10/17000 server information gathered, but when the refresh is done I just get "server list last refreshed.. (date)" and no servers in the server list.

it's not a filtering issue, ive checked that

also tried to tracert the master server cod4master.activision.com got time out on 7th, 10-30th hops, however not 8-9 where one of the hops was to xxx.activision.com

I've opened port on my router, turned off my firewall software.. no windows firewall running.

hope someone can help me solve this issue, otherwise i won't be playing cod4 no more :(

thanks in advance,
Eaglesight

copy ur gamer files (rank etc) and reinstall and reupdate, if it doesent work then its ur internet

first of all; this thread* can be locked as I have solved the problem

solution: my router didn't allow CoD4 master server to be contacted, not sure yet how to make it work, so right now I connect my computer to my cable"box", so it's directly connected to internet.

Look into your firmware on your router. Type your gateway into your internet browser and take a look around.

i've already tried port forwarding, there's actually a preset profile for Call of Duty that I choosed and then it filled in the port udp/tcp for me, i've checked around on google and it's supposed to be the correct ports in the setting, so yeah.. that i've tried :(

Problem completely solved,
If you don't get any games/can't join any games when, open port 53 on your router (portforward it to the computer you're playing on) and you will be able to find games :D
Port 53 is supposed to handle DNS requests or something I heard? Dunno. :)
