Ping?

So just a few minutes after I start playing my ping shot up to 200+. No one is downloading, no one is running any other programs. When I tried going on servers other than eGO, even on CS: Source my ping runs about 60-80.

Any reason why this is happening?

well, from my understanding the servers are located in Texas, and the further away you are from there, the higher your ping will be.

For example, take the LIGS servers.

I live on Long Island, so my ping is about 8.

eGO servers usually run my ping up to about 60-70.

It depends on where the server is located geographically.

lol i live in houston,TX and i played today and my ping was in the 200's also , its usually in the 40-50s

Me = Campbell, CA. Moe's in CA and he has less than me. I'm just wondering mine is different.
